A very nice small clean hotel with good facilities and very good service. The service is excellent and all the staff are very polite.
The spa and treatments are very nice-do NOT take any valuables/money in the spa though…read the guide in the room and follow it! As they have no lockers, your bag/valuables can be tampered with!! For this, i am very disappointed

Room Tip: Rooms are spacious and clean-top floor rooms have better view of the sea and more breeze

Thank you all at the Niksoma, our week with you was Fabulous, stayed with my Teenage girls in room 101 Superior Room, more Traditional Bali Decor which we loved. Quiet area, view of the Beach from our Patio. Staff are super friendly, Restaurant is of high standard, as was the Day Spa. Close to Seminyak for Boutique shopping. Kuta shopping only $2.50 to the new Boardwalk Complex in a BLUE BIRD Taxi which is metered. Don't take the other Blue Taxis there meters are not accurate and they will charge you double for any trip. Teenagers can go to Surf Schools which are very professional. You can then Hire your own board for $5.00 a day. Catch a Scooter to Seminyak which is fun, good Flee Market there, superb restaurant called Mama San is a must!
Niksoma we will see you again.

We recently stayed at the Niksoma and were very happy with our room, the food and the amazingly friendly staff. The pool has a great outlook onto the beach, with a number of areas to eat, have a drink or relax. We were upgraded to a Deluxe room which was clean, comfortable and quiet. A very handy location for shopping and restaurants. Plenty of well shaded spots around the pool, which being a smaller resort, never seemed crowded. We could not fault the service. The staff were professional, friendly and could not do enough to help us. Would highly recommend. The massage at the Day Spa was fantastic!

It was great to get back to the niksoma for another visit. The positive news was that the deluxe rooms had been updated and were fantastic. The staff were great and friendly as always. We did though find the breakfasts disappointing. All the warm food was cold each morning. The only way to overcome this was to get eggs cooked. It was also disappointing that the same group managed to take the same cabana (above the top pool) for all 7 days we were present. The same group did the same thing two years ago at the same time of year. This should not be allowed no matter how special they think they are. We all pay our money to share the niksoma facilities, not to have the same selfish group allowed to do as they please year after year.

We went here and the room was beautiful! The service was great especially pool side and restuarant and to this day it has the best breakfast ever in Bali. The only criticism is the door leading to the little private balcony isnt sealed and mozzies get into your room

Room Tip: Great introduction to Bali from here. The view every day is beautiful!

The purpose of my trip was for my 6 year old to get some sun, sleep and recover post-surgery before going back to school. So staying at our usual places in Seminyak (The Samaya / Dusun) seemed a little excessive for just her & I. I did book this with much trepidation as some of the 'poor' reviews seemed pretty bad.
Anyway - I got a good pre-paid deal online direct with the hotel for a deluxe room as most people had reviewed this so highly, I took a chance.
Before I start, it is really important to note that most of the guests were returning guests and all seemed to know each other from previous trips (is it possible to write a review, if people only ever stay here?? ) .
The service and the staff are wonderful. In fact, the housekeeping far exceeded our experiences at the Samaya and Banyan Tree.
What I don't understand is how people can review this as a 5 star property. It isn't. I don't think the Niksoma promotes themselves as that either.
At BEST, it is a standard hotel. The rooms are very ordinary and the bathrooms unenjoyable.
This however, was not my biggest issue. It defies me that people have not mentioned how noisy the location of this hotel is. Through no fault of the hotel, I could not sleep for the first 3 nights. One section of the deluxe wing backs directly onto the, functioning but yet to be completed, 'Ossotel'. There is a tiny walkway between the 2 properties that is used by motorbikes the WHOLE night / day. When they get to the corner (where room 326 is) they horn, before turning the corner. It was loud!
The fireworks on the beach every night were like gunshots going off 100m away. The first 2 nights, this went on until 2.55am.
The Ossotel decided to start some construction at 8.30pm on my second night....they were still banging away at 11pm.
On my third night, a group of 3 young lads with partying on their mind moved in next door. They brought with them their own speaker system and partied until 4am. I could hear everything going on next door - especially in the bathroom & when they were sitting out on the balcony.
Just be prepared to have 'anyone' move in next door, given the cheap rates. You get what you pay for, really rings true here.
I really felt as if the walls were closing in on me and I had every intention to check-out the next day and head to the Oberoi. Three nights without sleep....I was shattered. My 6 year old though, slept through everything.
I asked to change rooms - this was done expeditiously and apologetically (thank you Wiwik). Rm 521 was on the other side of the hotel, near reception...much better. No more motorbikes horning and noisy yobo's next door.
Only thing was, we'd swapped from the noisiest room in the place to the filthiest. Unfortunately, the fruit bats had a party every night on our balcony and the mountains of pooh and mess was horrific. Having a morning cuppa on the balcony was out of the question :( ...housekeeping did their best to clean up every morning but by 8pm every night, they were back, hanging in the netting from the roof.
Would I go back? For the restaurant, definitely! Loved the food and convenience. The staff were fabulous and the sunsets with cocktails, fabulous.
For the location? Definitely NOT! It is noisy. At the end of the lane (Jalan Padma Utara) is awful. The Circle k convenience store has resident beggars and the street is filled with cheap trinket shops and lots of tie-dye and harem pants. The beach side during the wet season (Nov-March) is un-swimmable. Used condoms, nappies and sanitary napkins were some of the things we waded through on the beach. Literally tonnes of plastic was washing up and although the authorities were doing their best to clean it up, it was coming in faster than they could pick it up.
All-in-all, the hotel is standard. Lovely people, but NOT 5 star. I was out of my comfort zone staying in Legian and prefer Seminyak. 500m down the beach REALLY makes a difference.

Room Tip: Don't stay in Deluxe...super noisy and lots of bats like to roost in the netting on the balconi...
