“A great little escape in the heart of the action”
Reviewed 8 January 2013

A friend and I recently spent 7 nights at Beach Melati Apartments and we were very happy with our stay. We were in apartment 202 which was spacious with a great semi-private balcony overlooking the pool. Housekeeping kept the place spotlessly clean every day which was great and the apartments had comfy couches, beds, clean bathrooms and everything else you need. We were there over the busy New Years period and although all apartments were booked, we never felt like it was crowded nor was it loud and 9/10 times you got a private swim in the pool. Staff were always helpful and room service from the several restaurants affiliated with the place was quick and easy, although anything you need is just a stones throw away. The private beach entry was great too (although it does flood during wet season, just a tip!). Overall it was a great friendly, clean, hassle free stay from the booking to check out, and the other residents were lovely.

The only downsides to ALL of the positives we had were that the water cooler was empty when we arrived and we had to pay to replace it (thought that would be part of the room rate). We also didn't realize the wifi internet had to be purchased in time alloted cards, and both of the 5 hour ones we purchased definitely did not give us 5 hours worth - this however is not a problem of the venue, but something with the internet provider. Wasn't really a problem anyway as basically everywhere in Bali has free wifi!

I definitely recommend Beach Melati Apartments for anyone looking for that more relaxed and private place while still remaining in the heart of the action (but take a look on a map beforehand and find a few landmarks, because our taxi drivers had trouble finding it!)

Thank you for taking the time to post a review on your stay with us and for recommending our apartments. We will look into the internet problem and will also discuss the water with our owners. We hope to see you again in the future

We have just had the pleasure of calling Melati home for the past week- and it really did feel like home. The apartment itself was gorgeous and everything was in perfect working order. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived and with daily (!) housekeeping, continued to be so. The complex is in a fantastic position - a little more quiet than Kuta but only a 3 min walk down a quirky little alley to the beach. A twenty minute walk along the beach shoreline saw us at Ku DeTa and Bintang supermarket is a five minute scoot away ;)
All of the above leads to a great holiday and that it was. But the difference between Melati and other places I have stayed, is the staff. There was never anything at all that was a bother- all staff even humoured my 4 year old while she told them her long and convoluted stories. When my 8 month old had a relapse of his cold from the week before one of the guys jumped on his scooter and went and got him some 'Vicks' and baby panadol-he could have just given me the directions to the pharmacy but to him it was genuinely no problem.
The manager of the property Jinae is full of info and on top of going above and beyond is also friendly and great to have a laugh with.

We got home two days ago. I booked our next stay at Melati today. Nuff said really!

Recently returned from our holiday to Bali, we have been travelling there since 1985 on a regular basis and have stayed in many varied accommodation over the years.

This was our tenth stay at Melati since 2005, we usually split our time in Bali between Legian / Sanu/ Nusa Lembongan but we always look forward to our time at Melati.

Depending on how many of the family travel we can always find the apartment to suit. Our recent stay was in the penthouse and I must say that the new owner has made some great changes to the spaces in the bedrooms, all now have TV's and new soft furnishings. We have recommended the apartments to many friends and family members and have not had one complaint !!
The beauty of the apartments is that you have a separate living space to the bedrooms and either a balcony or veranda for those afternoon drinks.

The location is perfect for our needs, a short walk to the beach and restaurants in one direction and not too far from Legian Street for a bit of retail therapy in the other.
Jinea and the boys are brilliant, the rooms are cleaned daily and nothing is too much trouble.

If your looking for a large resort with swim up bar, kids club and bebe guns this ISNT the place for you.
It is a quiet oasis that makes me feel safe and secure when outside on the street its madness !

We (7 ladies) rented 1 x 2 bedroom and a balcony adjoining 1 bedroom apartment between 6-16 October 2012. The apartments are cool, clean (cleaned EVERY DAY!), spacious and modern. Next time we'll try for the 3 bedroom penthouse as only having 1 x bathroom in the 2 bedroom apartment was not a huge problem it did have it's downfalls with so many ladies sharing. The staff (Janae and team) were extremely friendly and helpful with any aspect including a loan of luggage scales to make sure our "tonnes of shopping" weren't going to cost us $$$ in excess luggage. These apartments are a handy 1 minute stroll to the beach, shops and restaurants at your doorstep while feeling safe and secure. It truly was an oasis in Legian to retreat to...try the Niksoma restaurant next door on the beach front - sensational food and great value.

Highly recommended very clean, staff were always willing and very helpful, location was in the middle of Legian and you wouldnt even know the apartments existed from the outside, when you walked through the doors iit felt like you were right away from everything, very quiet and small number of rooms and good place also to meet other guests around the pool.

The accommodation was beautiful, clean and had everything we needed. Beach Melati was close to everything including shops, restaurants and the beach.
