Visited around 3 years ago with a friend for a week. It was cheap, it was in a good location, what else can i say really. The rooms were old, but tidy at the same time. I wouldnt say the breakfast was awesome but edible anyway.
Its a budget hotel for sure, and by reading some of these reviews. People were expecting more. You get what you pay for!

I love Bali but this motel is TERRIBLE, the owner knows what goes on and does not care, They stole money from my room, the same day stole cash, jewellery and the brand name clothing from five other rooms. Avoid this.

Room Tip: Avoid this hotel

I absolutely love this hotel and have stayed many times, the staff here are so lovely and to all the people complaining that the food is not hot enough or that the rooms aren't immaculate what you really need to remember is you are staying in budget budget accommodation, dont pay for something cheap if your expecting 5* theres a reason those hotels are the price they are.
Swim up bar is great, we had a few mozzies around too but staff came around and smoked them out for us on request, they also did this every night at 5pm, location wise its perfect, we go to bali to hit the clubs, restaurants and bars and this place is great for it, cafe enhay if its still there is just down the road and has great prices and very lovely staff!!! I am returning to Champlung Mas again in October and have great expectations again as they have never failed me before, cant wait!!

I was travelling with my sister and my baby. We were looking for a nice hotel with a garden, so baby can enjoy outdoor without roasted by Bali Sun. I fell in love by the pictures of this hotel and the reviews encouraged me choosing a room at first floor, which its veranda door (a beatiful Bali Crafting Gate) opens to the garden. But at the arrival, after the long trip with the small baby, our room was not ready yet and we had to wait till they cleaned (!) another for us. A room at the second floor. We were not impressed. The next morning, and on days after, during breakfasts, it came clear to us that this hotel is a favorite to some regular guests from Australia, and only those guests received nice treats from the staffs. Even the smiles they're giving are different. I really dont think this is the best way to welcome their guests. We all payed for the service, didn't we?

Me and my boyfriend stayed at this hotel for only 3 days, although we booked for 7 days. The rooms smelled like urine and alcohol, and we switched room because of that twice. And the staff were unpleasant and occasionally just mean from the second we arrived. A lot of mosquitos in each room also..

We stayed in July last year for a week. It was the week after the school holidays so it was nice and quiet. We are young early 20's but aren't into the clubbing scene more just going to the pubs for a drink.

We stayed in the old part of the hotel which is gorgeously set up but really needs work done to it. Considering we paid $60 a night I really can't complain. The room was clean, there was a working safe and hot water.

We spent a lot of time in the "old" pool. It is massive with a swim up bar and the staff were lovely, cheerful and helpful. The new pool is busier but it's really what you prefer.

They also have a roof top pool that is almost hidden, we had to ask the staff how to get there. It is beautiful up there and overlooks the ocean but the only down side is no swim up bar. in saying that they didn't have a problem with us taking our own drinks up.

Breakfast is average and what you would expect.

Although it's hidden down the dodgiest little lane I love this hotel for the location. Walk 5 min to legian beach and 15 min to poppies two. Also close by is an amazing bar called uncle Norm's which we just love. We have been going there for years and the staff are all the same and so lovely and treat you like family.

It might not be everyone's cup of tea but it really depends on what you look for in a Bali hotel.
We aren't fussed by our room ... You only sleep there. We look for location and pools / sun beds.

There is no spa or gym but there are plenty of great spas only a minutes walk away :)

I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Pick a newer room near the new pool if you are fussy about your room.
