“A lovely, quiet respite from all the busy streets in Legian”
Reviewed 17 March 2012

Ask to see some room, I loved this place because it was a quiet oasis in the midst of busy streets in Legian. The pool was sweet and there are many winding walkways to various cottages. Our room was huge and our bathroom was, too. It's nothing fancy, but it does feel tucked away in pretty gardens and it has a great location. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: I would ask to see 2 or 3 rooms and pick one of those. If you want to be near the pool or cafe, let...

I've been staying at Three Brothers for a number of years and have watched it slowly decline. On my most recent visit I had a room where the paint was peeling off the wall, the sheets although clean were faded badly with wear, and ill fitting. The bath towels were also old and no bath mat was supplied or soap etc. For the three nights we were there the room wasn't cleaned. We had the air conditioner set at 16 degrees and were still at times sweating. The place apart from the gardens is just plain tired, the staff and the rooms are dreary and the breakfast which is included borders on stingy (I mean really 'an egg') I think until the owners inject some money and give the place a BIG face lift it should be avoided.

Upon checking in the guy behind the counter didn't have a sense of humor or knew what a smile meant. The place was a great location and the gardens were lush and green. Room was large, air conditioner was kept on all day and kept up with the demand. Bathroom was different, showering outside. Finding your room was a challenge in the beginning, a maze through the gardens.

I've been to bali about 10 times and I reckon this place has to be one of the most relaxing trips I've had. Three Brothers Bungalows is a tropical retreat in a very convenient location.

PRO'S
- Quiet, quiet quiet (no young drunk obnoxious aussies)
- Very nice location, heaps of restaurants and shops close by.
- Only 7-8 min walk tops to the beach
- Beautiful lush tropical gardens
- Big spacious rooms, (we stayed in the Delux suite)
- Cheap cheap we paid $75aud per night (all incl).
- Good pool
- Delux rooms have a great outdoor shower and bath in tropical gardens
- Nice friendly staff

CON'S

- Breakfast is bad, but we only had it once then paid $3.50(aud) down the road each morning at a restaurant, so no big deal.
- The hotel allows street sellers to walk thru the grounds to try and sell you stuff which becomes a little annoying.
- That's it.

I'll never stay anywhere else. It's more suited for mature people with well behaved children. Young kids are not really suited to this place. Very romantic and relaxing.
9/10 ( Not a 10 becuase of the breakfast and hawkers)

We had made reservations here based on what we had read online. When we arrived (family of three) the front counter was totally rude and then the gentleman who was to show us the rooms was completely dismissive. He took us to three different options, each worse than the previous. The room were shabby, the walls needed painting, overall a very poor showing. There is another property just down the street call Sri Ratu that has much nicer rooms, much better staff and is less expensive! They are harder to find online but I am sure that there are other places that actually want your business and have pride in their accommodations. Stay away from Three Brothers!!!

This could be a gem of a place. The location is good (although it is a fair walk to the beach), the rooms are spread out through a lovely garden area, the pool is large and in a nice setting and you have the choice of a variety of room styles (fan, AC, family units, double or twin rooms etc). However, often the basics do not work or need fixing eg. the toilet won't flush, the AC is noisy or doesn't work, the tiles on the floor are cracked etc. Room cleaning can be hit or miss depending on which cleaner you have and to get anything rectified is EXTREMELY difficult. The guys at the front desk are very laid back and have a 'take it as it is' attitude. ALWAYS do a detailed check of your room before you pay for it!
