Went with my wife and met with friends on Friday night, our server was excellent and was pleased with the live guitar and piano jazz playing.

The food was great! The "brick" chicken was very well prepared and succulent, we were able to have great conversation and enjoy the low light and ambiance of the dark wood decor and professional staff, they made us feel very welcome and we enjoyed the evening very much!

I also got to try some of the Ribeye steak one of my friends ordered, may I say it was a excellent cut of meat and cooked very well! This place was expectantly pleasant and fair priced, they also have a excellent wine list!

We have eaten at Ophelia's several times over the past dozen years and have stayed at the inn on three different occasions. It's a real gem of a place, right on the redeveloped Independence (MO) square. The courthouse with its Harry Truman statue is right across the street as is the soda fountain where Truman worked. The Truman home is a few blocks away, and the Truman Library is an easy drive. Ophelia's menu is eclectic with very fresh ingredients and nice preparation. The Sunday brunch is outstanding. Upstairs, the rooms are very comfortable and larger than at most B&B's.

I have heard many times about how great this restaurant is. Well, all said is correct! Charming, quiet inside. Excellent service and truly fine food at reasonable prices
I must say though we were out off by terribly loud music coming forth from the restaurants outside speakers. Sooo awful. Come to find out it is the choice of the owner. Believe me, this is a lovely dining experience Inspite of the owners poor choice of blaring carnival outside noise!

This is where you want to have your reception! Can't say enough great things about the staff, quality of the food & The Suite at The Inn! I am one very pleased Mother of the bride who had the best experience with a gifted & caring staff. The Inn was exquisite and the bride & groom were very pleased with all the accommodations. Megan, Rick & Ray are wonderful experienced professionals who will go above & beyond to make your event memorable. The staff who worked the reception did a wonderful job. Thank you again Ophelia's for a magnificent evening!

Room Tip: You won't regret going with the luxurious Suite!

Cons: It was very difficult to get a good night's sleep. The sheets on our queen size bed didn't fit well so the fitted sheet kept coming undone from the mattress all night. There 2 sleeping pillows available were both flat and uncomfortable to sleep on. We could hear the people and televisions from the rooms on either side of us. The television remote didn't work. There is not an emergency contact number or representative available for after hours issues. The food on the dinner menu was expensive but mediocre. The breakfast was typical but tasty.

Pros: The rooms were clean and nicely decorated. The staff that we interacted with were helpful and friendly. Each room has a basket of complimentary snacks and free wifi is available. The location is great for any activities in the square.

We stayed at the Inn and had supper in the restaurant. We were the only people staying and our room was very nice complete with snacks and beverages and a great view of old downtown. The manager apoligized to us for not 'warning' us that they had live music downstairs that might keep us up. We had supper which was 5 star and then we listened to the live music until they shut it down around 11:30. Slept great. It was such a great place to spend the evening and walk up stairs to our well appointed room. The food and service were well beyond what I expected even for fine dining.

I stayed at Ophelia's while attending a trial in the local courthouse. They were extremely accomodating and friendly. The room was comfortable and clean. The decor was modern without being harsh.
I ate most of my meals at the restaurant to save time and each time was delighted by the chef's creativity.

Room Tip: If you need a desk for working, be sure to request in advance.
