The Independence Events Center offers free parking, a family community center for skating and Central Hockey League (CHL) games with the Missouri Mavericks. Prices are reasonable and a family friendly environment is encouraged.

“Great facility!”
Reviewed 31 March 2014

Other than it being extremely cold, the rink was very well maintained. Nicest facility for skating that I have ever visited.

“Intimate Setting”
Reviewed 9 February 2014

This center is definitely not the biggest event center in Kansas City, but it is nice. It's the perfect spot for an event that isn't huge. AKA, Mavericks hockey, Comets soccer, some concerts...etc. I've been here a couple of times and I don't feel like there is a bad seat in the house, and parking is free! We went to a Comets game and opted for a suite, since we had several people. It ended up being around $22/person, which wasn't bad at all, and it was nice to have some extra space since we had a few small children with us. If you're going to an event with a large group, check into the suites.

Honestly not a bad seat in the house, the venue is perfect for all ages to go and see a successful minor league hockey franchise.

“Great Value!”
Reviewed 31 December 2013 credit card Amex Cardmember Review

IEC is one of the best venues in the KC area. I've been to a a few hockey games and a couple concerts and always enjoyed it. Every seat is close and although it is smaller than other arenas, you don't feel like you are sitting on your neighbors lap.And how can you beat free parking and reasonable priced concessions?
