“Amazing View”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 November 2013

This place had the most amazing view!
It was very quiet, and there was only one staff member in the front of house, so service was a bit slow.
The food was authentic, the flavours were all there but as I'm a fussy eater, I found the chicken a little TOO authentic (a tad sinewy). The black rice pudding was to die for and the banana ginger shake was amazing!
A great place to rest your feet after a walk to the waterfall.

“Fantastic views but that's where it ends”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 August 2013

Stopped here for lunch on 12 July with a group of 10 others. This was the only restaurant of the trip I did not chose for the group and was chosen by our driver. Lesson learnt, I will always make sure I have some options of my own in future. There are a large number of stairs to navigate to reach the restaurant from the carpark. If you are someone who has problems with stairs this is not the place to stop. While the view was fantastic the service was very slow and the staff seemed very disinterested. We had to chase up one of the meals for a member in our group several times as it appeared it had been forgotten. The food was average which was disappointing. I had chicken satay which is one of my favourite dishes in Bali. The satay sticks came out on their own burner which was a bonus as I could ensure the chicken was cooked to my liking however there was only 3 pieces of chicken per satay stick and the satay sauce was nothing memorable. Total cost for our group was Rp 1.3 million which is not over the top but for the level of service and the quality of food was not great. I would not recommend stopping here and in fact would look for alternate options in the area.

“Great View, Very Average Tourist Food”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 July 2013

Stopped there for lunch with a group of 11. The Ikan Bakar (grilled fish) looked good but was tough and overcooked. Manager wasn't interested when it was returned it to the kitchen and it had to be paid for. The fried prawns small, but well cooked, but you will need to order something else as nothing accompanying. The Indonesian vegetables and the curried fish were okay, but nothing special. Steamed rice was tasteless and gluggy. Drinks were overpriced (Rp46,000 for large Bintang) and you then have to add 20% to all prices. Service was average from the unfriendly staff, who don't say goodbye, because they know their tourist customers won't be coming back. The best thing about the restaurant is the unbelievable view. I wouldn't stop again at this tourist trap other than to check the view and I would not recommend eating there. Average Rp120,000 each is a lot more than you need to pay in good Bali restaurants.

“restaurant in the clouds”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 February 2013

Each time we visit Lovina we go for a drive to the "restaurant in the clouds",this was our fourth visit. As you get higher up the hillside, the clouds roll in.You park your car ,take a seat, then the clouds part and you have the most beautiful scene in front of you, Bali of old, rice terraces, palm trees, flowers and lush vegetation, the Bali sea.The food is great, a lot of local specialty dishes,we especially love the battered bananas with the beautiful sauce. The coffee is grown on site, they also serve the "special cat" coffee which is smooth and sweet.Walk down the stairs and see the coffee being roasted and ground as your surrounded by coffee and clove plants. We always bring some coffee beans home,as we drink it, it reminds us of restaurant in the clouds.

“Wow what a view”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 February 2013

If only we had more restaurants with views like this. The food was good, prices were reasonable and the view was spectacular. It was a lovely way to spend a a couple of hours in between touring the Munduk region
