My husband and I stayed at Alila Villas Soori for 5 nights as part of our honeymoon. It definitely lived up to our expectations. The resort itself is stunning. Despite the fact that they told us several times while we were there that it was full, we rarely saw more than a few other people when we ventured outside of our villa.

The resort is really geared toward relaxation - we spent our days laying by our private infinity pool or enjoying the spa. The spa is breathtaking - we got facials, massages, body scrubs, body wraps and enjoyed the steam room. I loved all of the products they used and that they were all natural.

We stayed in Ocean View Villa 206 which was perfect - gorgeous ocean views, direct beach access, a massive bed, indoor/outdoor showers and a wonderful villa host.

The food was relatively expensive ($50ish USD for breakfast for 2 and easily $100+ USD for dinners) but really good - though by the last day we were ready for something else. We dined in both of the restaurants as well as in the villa. We loved the nasi/mie goreng, satays, curries, and even the french fries. As part of one of the Alila journeys, my husband went to the local market early with one of the resort chefs and had a private cooking class when they returned. I joined them to eat their delicious dishes and we were also given the recipes to take home with us. One evening we had dinner at the 10 bedroom residence with Balinese dancers/musicians as entertainment. We also had an in-villa BBQ the final night which was quite an experience - tons of food.

Overall I'd highly recommend Alila Villas Soori for other couples looking to get away and relax!

Room Tip: Spend more for an Ocean Pool Villa - 206 was perfect!

This is the type of villa one goes to when he or she needs to clear the mind. I was there for a family member's wedding, and I got the chance to stay there with several friends and family members.

The focus of the resort is the spa, and while there are a number of activities you can do, they won't be the highlight of your trip. If it weren't for the company of so many friends, I might have felt a bit bored.

Everything about the villa encourages you to relax, and Alila does an excellent job at it. I have high praise for the staff who attended to our party's needs. We had a lot of personal requests from our party, and each one was handled in good time, and with a smile.

we stayed here for 3 nights on our honeymoon inbetween stays at GMM CHEDI UBUD and GHM THE CLUB @ THE LEGIAN BALI .

upon arrival the hotel has really blow away impressive. we had an oceanfront beach villa (top floor ones) and the villa was very impressive with infinity pool directly from living room!

the food was very good although we found it a bit limited for example we had chosen to eat a lot of indonesian food in Ubud , but you had no choice but expensive indonesian food in the evenings whereas we were in the mood for non indonesian, so 2 of the 3 nights we actually ordered food o our room for dinner as this worked out much cheaper and was what we wanted. wagyu burger !! the hotel could do with offering some more casual dining option at night but they know the can get away with it at night as the property is so remote.

all in all the resort is impressive as is noted in many reviews. but for us we were spoiled by staying at REAL luxury by staying at GHM Chedi and GHM The Club at The Legian before and after. these are LUXURY up there with Aman properties and that left Soori feeling a bit inferior , the level of service expecially butler service is far inferior to GHM. but still a very good stay .

met the manager as we left and see gave us a complimentary book on the Seminyak area as she knew we were heading there which was nice. we visited tanah lot en route to The Legian.

also note it was overcast quite a bit while there in september .

lastly , you can pick up some great deals occassionally on luxury link and jetsetter for this property.

still giving this property 5/5 but really i would say it was 4.5/5

We stayed here for our first four night of our Balinese family holiday and were truly impressed by every aspect of the hotel. The room design (ok, maybe one switch to turn on/off all lights would be nice), the beachfront (ok, maybe a bit too much trash washes up on shore each morning), the food, the guides, the staff, .... everything. This hotel is really a treasure. Take advantage of the cultural experiences and trust the chef. He is a treasure. If you like being completely spoiled but still want to embed yourself in the local culture and food, this is the place for you. Expensive but no question as to you value for money. Giving Aman and Four Seasons a run for their money with a similar philosophy and execution but at a substantially lower price point. Not quite as high staff-guest ratio but do you really need it especially if the property is as well designed as this one?

We stayed at Alila Villas Soori for the first three nights of our honeymoon. It took us more than two hours to get to the villas from Denpasar airport due to bad traffic, but the car was very comfortable and our driver apologised repeatedly. And once we got there, it was absolutely worth the wait (and the expense!). The entrance to the resort is breathtaking, and the whole resort is visually stunning, but quiet and peaceful. We stayed in a beach front pool villa and loved the outlook and easy access to the beach.

We loved all the food and cocktails available at our villa and at the two restaurants. The food is delicious, and actually quite reasonably priced. The wine however, is quite expensive.

We also did the half-day culinary journey and enjoyed visiting the local market and learning to cook traditional dishes.

The staff were all extremely helpful, friendly, and professional.

We stayed at Soori as part of the "Twin Sensations Package" and also stayed at Alila Villas Uluwatu (I must say, that resort is even more amazing, and I have reviewed it too, but we loved and would recommend both of them).

We just returned from a 7 day stay at Alila. It was so beautiful and relaxing. The villas are amazing and the staff extremely accommodating. We highly recommend the culinary outting. We also enjoyed other outtings with an amazing guide named Aday (unsure of spelling). Keep in mind your food options are only Alila and a bit pricey for what u get. I would highly recommend Alila.

Just back from a new stay at Alila Villas Soori and i'm extremely happy that this property is still on the very best way to become one of the five most amazing properties in Bali and surely one of the most wonderful in the world.

We just spent two days this time but in such a short time, we have had to access to the nirvana cause the team perfectly managed by the adorable Irra is really great and so cool but on the positive way. They're not only doing their job with an unparalleled professionalism but they're providing something from their heart and they're all so unique. Our villa host, Mira, was so nice, always with a pretty smile and a nice attention, always providing the best of herself to make us happy. We even went to play kyte on the beach with her and after our stay, we all consider her as a friend.

Something which is great at AVS is every single person you'll meet will be super nice with you. We even have had the visit of the Executive Chef in our villa to make sure everything was fine about our room service dinner. That means they're really taking care of the guests and they push very high the standard of service… I'm totally in love for the Alila Hospitality.

During our short stay we tried an experience we'll never forget, a private BBQ just incredible in their new ten bedrooms villa with a breathtaking view on the ocean and a perfect design and layout. If you want to do a party or spend some dreamy holidays with an extensive family or a group of friends, you have to choose this villa. About the food, it was so yummy and so well organized. AVS is lucky to have the genius Ashton as Executive Chef cause everything was absolutely delicious and this BBQ is undoubtedly the best we had in our life.

But if you can't afford for this quite expensive ten bedrooms villa, don't hesitate to book a Terrace Villa with a very nice pool and a view on the rice fields, just marvelous. If you need a bit more space, the 3 bedrooms 503 is a great alternative with a huge private pool of 18 meters and everywhere the same very modern, beautiful and cool design.

AVS is definitively the right place to go in an authentic area of Bali where there is so much to see.
A truly wonderful new experience and with no doubt, the best staff ever.
