At first we wanted to stay in Munduk or Bedugul, but it was so early in the day so we headed to Jatiluwih instead.
And what a good decision we had! Everyone should spend at least a couple of hours here. And what is here? The most epic rice terraces we have ever seen! Forget Tegallalang if you visit Bali, but go to Jatiluwih and stay there for a night, it worth it!
We haven't read anything before arrived to Jatiluwih about homestays and their quality, just stopped at Teras Subak, and asked for a room. What we've got was quite okay: a clean room with a supercomfy bed and an attached shower with unlimited hot water.
They have free wifi as well. In the evening the locals play some balinese instruments and they are happy to teach you something!
As this place is a warung as well, they offer food for a very competitive price!
There is a small hike to the village temple across the rice fields, just a couple of hours and the trailhead is just 10 meters from the homestay.
And the drawback: there are a lot of stray dogs around bali: this place is not an exception either, the dogs were fighting outside during the night, so bring earplugs if you are not a good sleeper.
