This place is in the middle of nowhere really. Great if you want that sort of thing but maybe nor great if you are expecting to stroll into Ubud. Free shuttle is provided but does take a bit longer than the hotel states - its a great drive though with a lovely route past the rice terrace and local rural villages. Yes there are flies and insects but really what do you expect. The staff provided great service and the hour massage that was included in the price was fantastic.

The resort does not keep up to what the website promises. We made a reservation for 1 week, unfortunately too long. The resort is one an a half year old and already shows clear signs of degradation (humidity in bathroom: walls, roof, outside wall of the bathtub...). The website claims that the resort is only 25' from Ubud, in fact the shuttle takes 40'. Globally too expensive compared to other resorts. Not worth 4 stars at all, maximum 3. We will not come back.
Positives: quiet, beautiful view, very kind staff, good food.
Negatives: overpriced villas and food (the best restaurants in Ubud are much cheaper),not clean enough, too far from Ubud, no WiFi in the villas during 5 days....

We stayed at the hotel for a combined 4 nights booking two 2 night honeymoon packages.

Included per 2 nights is a 1 hour massage per person and a candle light dinner for 2 and a one way transfer to the airport or your next hotel.

The hotel is in the middle of the hills and far from any real tourist activity. However the hotel offers 3 shuttles to Ubud centre which is 40mins away with the last returning at 7pm.

Separate pickup can be arranged for a 120k IR fee from ubud.

The massage is nice but the damp means the sheets seem to be wet but on request the lovely staff gladly added more sheets.

The candle light dinner not as great as the food has little choice for this option but the setting is lovely and the staff make every effort to set up a romantic dinner.

The breakfast was very nice but I recommend the American.

The hotel staff are very helpful and try their best to get things done for you.

There are a lot of flies and the open restaurant meant we couldn't enjoy breakfast without the flies swarming around us however I think this is a combination of being near jungles and the wet weather we had.

All in all a very nice stay but if you want to see ubud stay in the centre if you want to get away from it all this is very nice place but you will need to step out for food.

I think the hotel is beautiful but some curtains/netting around the open air restaurant area and better quality or cheaper food given the location would have been appreciated.

if your going here definitely check out Bridges restaurant in ubud centre the staff booked us a table and told them it was our anniversary and when we got there we had a lovely surprise table with rose petals set out for us.

As I said the staff try their best for you to have a great stay so I cannot fault the service.

Thanks puri sebatu for a great stay.

We booked the honeymoon package with 2 nights staying. The room service is good and staffs are very friendly, there is a very nice jungle view from the balcony. The hotel is small (only 10 rooms) and quiet. We booked the hotel is because it is near to the volcanoes, we thought there might be a lot of day tour/half day tour arranged by the hotel to the volcanoes/lakes. However, actually it is not. The tour activities are limited in the hotel's price book, and the price is very much higher than the tour agent at Ubud center. (e.g. day tour by car the hotel asks for us$85)
May be the hotel is too far from the center, there are a lot of insect in the hotel, even in the bathroom, you can see many big ants and other insects (i dont know the name...). Room is not clean also, blots can be found at the pillow, quit and bed sheet, and everything is a bit wet end up with smelly...I couldn't sleep well because it is too dirty...
There are 1 hr spa and candle light dinner in our package, I would say the spa is nice but a bit disappoint as the bed sheet in spa room are wet and cold...Candle light dinner: nice service but the food is not delicious...
Overall, I am not enjoy the staying and dont want to recommend it to others.

Room Tip: It is a quite cold place, take more clothes during your staying. Better to bring some snacks or take...

Puri Sebatu is a unique resort, with 10 separate villas located at upper mountain side. Each villa has a spacious balcony where guests can enjoy coffee, sunshine as well as private time with Kintamani. Indoor areas are also perfect, with a romantically decorated sleeping room and a large bathtub where lovers can relax with views of the mountains at the side as well as the galaxy through the glass ceiling. What's more, the swimming pool at the edge of the highest area of the resort offers another best access to all these special views and experiences. It's no doubt the best hotel in Bali we have ever stayed.

Room Tip: Villas are located along a round way from the highest area to the lowest of the resort. The higher i...

We booked in to stay at the Puri Sebatu Resort for two nights. We checked out as soon as we could after one night. However, this place does have so much potential, I thought I'd list the good and bad points to help you decide whether you could stay here.

The best part of this resort is the view. From the balcony of your room or the infinity pool, you can look down at the rice terraces and watch the sun rise above the silhouette of the volcano. The staff are very friendly, helpful and welcoming.

The worst part about this resort (and the easiest to fix) is the linen. We had the honeymoon suite which had a suspended canopy above the bed. The material was several shades darker than the whitish bed linen and had brown damp stains all over it. This complimented the stains on the bed linen which we tried to belive was food but was most likely dried blood or poo. The towels weren't too much better either. The bathroom was not cleaned well at all (yellow drip stains down the front of the toilet) and the bath itself leaked water all over the edge of the bath pushing debris and bugs in to the bathwater. The walls were dirty and had been badly patched up with some mis matched paint slapped over the repair work with no effort to blend with the rest of the wall. The amount of holes, cracks and stains make it hard to believe that this place has only been open for a year.

Also, the place is often marketed as being in Ubud. It's not. It's another 30 minutes drive from Ubud. It wasn't a great idea to stay here on our first night as getting off a plane straight in to a taxi for that drive was pretty painful. They did pay for the taxi though.

The management could make this an amazing resort with just a few simple steps; throw out all white materials and replace them at the same time as replacing the laundry contractor. Fix up all holes and cracks and then paint the entire surface in the same colour. Fumigate the rooms before arrival and stock some fly spray for the guests (as there are no shops within walking distance to buy our own and the hornets, mostquitoes and flies are huge in size and number).

Really not a great experience for us but it would be so simple to bump and average rating up to an amazing one. Unfortunately, as it stands, the average rating I've given it is completely propped up by that sunrise view!

Room Tip: The rooms are set out down the side of a valley and each bathroom, shower and toilet area have a gla...

Everything was great except for one thing:

PLEASE FIX THE HOTEL LOCATION MARKER ON THE GOOGLE MAP ON YOUR WEBSITE

It currently points to a completely different road and resort... Puri Sebatu is located another 10 minutes up the road. We almost got into a fight with our taxi driver based on the wrong marking on the map.

Room Tip: Higher up the hill
