As part of our tour this was by far the worst hotel we stayed in.

All was very pleasant on arrival with a cold towel and drink, but apart from that there was nothing really positive to say about this hotel.

The rooms were a throwback to the 70's, mould around the shower and not draining at all, the beds were uncomfortable and no air conditioning, luckily the temperature up in the mountain's is not hot hot hot.

The breakfast was also shocking, it was cold and must have been cooked the night before.

Avoid this hotel where possible.

Its situated a bit outta town but its location is least important. The lodge is well maintained. Rooms are large and spacious as well as comfortable. Breakfast offers a decent spread as well...
Free wifi is available in the lobby.
Just a few tips since its not very well insulated the sound echoes in case of soirees.. and the website misleads. Dont rely on website for an overview..

Stayed in this hotel as part of the first leg of the Sri Lanka holiday
Room sizes and service though good, needs urgent renovation in terms of the room decor, beds and most important, the bathrooms. Pathetic bathrooms fittings and amenities
Also the rooms lack any ventilation whatsoever, not even ceiling fans !
All in all a sorry state of affairs !!

Very friendly staff cannot help the hotel become a better one. It obviously gets older without any renovation. The area around is beautiful, one of the most wonderful towns in Ceylon but there are many hotels better for sure. The restaurant had quite a decent offering but with no air ventilation we all got very smelly during the dinner. This very old bulding definitely deserves any kind of investment...

Galway is nice boutique hotel in the hill station of Nuwareliya but tucked away far from city centre.. But the people were very friendly and service was excellent. free Wifi available in the lounge. Mobitel signal was not available. restaurant food was pretty good.

Room Tip: ask for rooms in the top floor..

Galway forest lodge appears much better in their pictures than it actually is. Our two night trip in an otherwise beautiful place called nuwara eliya was marred by a hotel that compromised both on quality and service.

Basic rooms with decent amenities but not maintained. The room did not have any blankets. When we got them, one of the two blankets had holes. The TV remote was not available in the room and despite asking reception, did not arrive till we checked out. The toilet flush was not flushing out properly even after repair. Food was reasonably good one day 1 with the buffet having a reasonable spread, but the buffet became a set dinner on night 2 as the hotel did not have enough guests. Need not complain about it if the set menu had enough choices or varieties. One soup, main course with two fixed dishes and one piece of desert - even budget hotels do better. On the whole, an avoidable place

Room Tip: The rooms on the top floor have a good view. Avoid the hotel if you can.

You have to remember you are in "Little England" and be prepared - we were, but not enough bedding! Having read other reviews, yes the hotel is tired but service was superb. On checking in we were brought hot towels and a pot of tea with biscuits. Dining service was very good as was the food and the rooms were clean and beds comfortable.
