This delightful hotel was one of the best hotel experience we have had the pleasure to enjoy. Colonial splendour at its best. Quirky and nostalgic in every aspect. The staff and service excellent. If you intend to tour Sri Lanka, do request your tour organiser/guide to book you in this well appointed place. The food was not too confusing with a multiple display but was just right and delicious. My only comment is that the Old dining room, apparently over a century old with the painted Copper ceiling and the dark wood panels made the place appear dark. Hope the management will consider brightening with good lighting. As we were on a celebrity trip we were pleasantly delighted with an upgrade and delicious cake, complement of the management.

Room Tip: Beautiful hill top location with manicured gardens.Excellent service,Comfortable four poster double bed and goog value.

Still within walking distance of the centre this is a lovely colonial style property overlooking the golf course with just 50 rooms or so. Cosy bar and veranda. Fresh colours in the room. Liked it a lot!

This lovely old hotel was quirky with its colonial décor and nice touches. The food was the best that we had on our Sri Lankan tour. The room was huge, chintzy and clean but with a view of the monstrous concrete building at the back. Loved this place.

Room Tip: Best rooms overlook the front

If you are looking for a modern hotel with no character then this is not the place for you. St Andrews is a jewel from the past where looking after their guests are their number one objective . You are greeted like a family member and nothing is too much trouble . The restaurant with its embossed ceiling is like travelling back to the Victorian era.
The buffet assortment was excellent and the cottage pie and steam chocolate pudding made a change from the curries I had been living on.
There is no air conditioning and no central heating, but you don't miss it, the atmosphere takes care of those modern luxuries . Try and book a room overlooking the beautiful gardens. Don't bother with the town, spend your time in Victoria Gardens.

Stayed one night on 28/08/2018 in the suite room with all its splendor during our recent trip to Nuwara Eliya. The welcome "soup" was a delightful change which warmed us in the chilly afternoon. Although the hotel is quite old, it boasts of a beautifully maintained garden which was in full bloom. Excellent food served by very helpful staff always ready to delight the guests. Had a very pleasant stay and look forward to a visit back again.

Room Tip: Request a room with a view of the garden.
