“Good food- fantastic toasted sandwiches!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 May 2014 via mobile

Spent 5 days on qui Nhon, and ate here everyday. Great toasted chicken cheese and avocado sandwiches! Fish and chips just ok, but great seafood fried rice.
Recommended as there isn't a lot of western restaurants here.

“Do not trust the lady running the cafe.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 April 2014

The food is ok. The fish and chips is rather greasy, but ok if you want some western food. However Barbara is not around, apparently she is back in New Zealand. And the lady in charged just try to make , as much money out of you as she can. If you buy bus ticket to hoi an from her, she will quote you 240 000 vnd, and say she is The only one selling tickets for the bus, that goes straight in to hoi an. Tells you all other busses will leave you out on the high way. This is not true. We bought our ticket from seagulls travel agent, price 140 000 vnd + 10 % commission ( total 154 000 vnd ). There is only one afternoon bus, all the hotels sell tickets for the same bus, or minivan that goes in the morning. Also very pushy in renting bikes or motorbikes, and doing your laundry, all at very high prices.....

“Good food for the price”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 March 2014

I didn't have lunch so I had dinner at Barbara's.
I had a very good Fish & Chips, the Guan Dong fried rice was in fact a mixed fried rice, but the service was nice and the prices were decent.
If you don't know where to go it's a good place.

“Still Open For Business”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 March 2014

Barbara's has relocated to the south end of the beach right across the street from the Hoang Yen hotel. Bed space has been reduced to a 6-room dorm and a double room. Restaurant is still operating and the menu hasn't changed. Moderately priced western food. Lending library and laundry service available to non-guests.

Entrees will run from $3 to $5 US. Sandwiches $2 to $3. Very little Vietnamese food. Dishes are well prepared but not bountiful. I ordered the Mango Pancakes for 30,000 Dong. I received a single crepe wrapped around some sliced Mango. It was delicious but I would have needed to order two of them to feel sated.

Great place if you need a western food fix or the company o North Americans as most of the Americanos seem to hang out here and not venture out.

“Delicious home comforts!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 February 2014

Delicious if you fancy a bit of home comfort food for a change. You don't see much western food elsewhere! The menu has all sorts of delicious home delights plus a few amazing smoothies for a health boost. Also, don't forget about English breakfast tea! The price is very reasonable too. You can also stay in Barbara's hostel which is just above the restaurant. It's a great location just across the road from the beach.
