“Great way to spend an afternoon.”
Reviewed 15 April 2014

The staff is knowledgeable and they have a nice presentation. Adults and children in our group enjoyed it. A couple of folks returned another day for a repeat visit.

“Earthen mounds and embankments forming huge geometric enclosures”
Reviewed 21 February 2014

Earthen mounds and embankments forming huge geometric enclosures grace the landscape of the Ohio River Valley. These monumental structures were built by Native American hands almost 2,000 years ago. Hopewellian people gathered at these earthworks for feasts, funerals and rites of passage. Come learn about these sacred spaces and reflect upon the lives of these American Indians.

Like many prehistoric and historic Indian Cultural location, one should really read 2-3 books prior to a visit.

Great for the entire family, and one more reason to spend several days in Chillicothe.

This place is historical, and is a really nice hike to check out the mounds. The visitors center gives loads of information on the cultures that made these enormous earthworks

“Great artifacts, film & old photos.”
Reviewed 23 October 2013

It's free & the employees went out of their way to find records of our grandfathers who had trained at Camp Sherman for WWI. I did not realize or remember the part about the Army camp which we found very interesting. Amazing how the Indians were able to construct all of this by hand so long ago.
