I stayed one night with my mother on July 13th. The sheets looked dirty, bathroom very unclean, hair in shower. Along with us finding a bed bug in the pillowcase. After calling front desk to talk to manger, we were told the manager would call us right back. After waiting 30 mins, we never received a call. So we call the front desk again to inform them we were checking out, and would not be staying the other two nights. Upon arrival in the lobby, we were treated very rudely by the desk clerks. They acted as if there was nothing wrong. Needless to say we will NOT be back, and won't recommend anyone staying at this historic hotel.

The staff was good. The location is great! They don't have close parking. It could use a few updates, but the feel, and the history is amazing if you like that sort of thing. Yes, the rooms and baths are small, but that's how things used to be. They also have rooms with the mineral water!

Room Tip: Skip the historical rooms, we changed rooms mid-stay to a bigger suite and were much happier with it...

Yes, this hotel does need some updating. It is looking well worn. BUT it is still a great hotel! Historic and in a great location. East to walk to shops and restaurants. Right next to the hot springs. It has a classic, old world charm and the halls/rooms look like something off the Titanic. The bar downstairs serves the best martinis and free popcorn. We love to hear the band on the weekends. The hot tub on the roof is extremely hot (102º), so we couldnt stay in for long, but it feels great. We have stayed here a few times and will definitely stay again.

You cannot fault the location but sadly that is all. We were on a road trip and a couple we met recommended this hotel so we thought it should be ok. However from the moment we arrived to a snooty welcome from the desk staff as we only wanted a standard room for 2 nights we were disappointed. The hotel seriously needs updating, the rust on the heater and the bathroom cleanliness left a lot to be desired. It was only the location that kept us there. The price did not include breakfast so I cannot comment on that.
I can only hope that the outdoor pool area on the 7th floor has had it structure tested as when we were below looking at the struts holding it up they look a little the worse for wear.
Upon checking out the housekeeper asked if all was ok, usually we would say yes fine but this time we took her to the room and pointed out the areas for that we were not happy with. She apologised profusely but why was it like that in the first place???
We appreciated the history of the building but it did appear that the rooms were exactly like they were when the building was first built!!!
On a good note when I accidently dropped the room key through the decking area a very nice maintenance man hunted through the poison ivy and returned it to me, for which I was very grateful.
The men in running the valet parking were friendly too but the desk staff obviously think themselves better than the people who pay their wages i.e. "The Customers"

Room Tip: Unless you want to be in a room that has seen better days from a long while ago do not choose a stan...

Me wife and I have been travelling annually to visit the 42 mile gated community of Hot Springs Village. The Village is home to 9 golf courses and a large number of welcoming residents...many of whom are retired.

We are among the partipants in the annual Couples Golf Tournament hosted over four courses. We received several inches of rain this year with 1 1/2 days of the three day tournament washed out.

We typically stay with friends in their Lake Balboa home, but have stayed in the Arlington Hotel in years past. This is a grand old hotel with a rich and exciting history. It continues to offer guests a hot spring bath and massage.

Room Tip: Request a room with national forest view.

There are two ways you could view the Arlington Hotel. You can view it as a historic hotel from the days of prohibition that regularly housed such notorious gangsters as Al Capone. However, those gangster days were clearly the last time the hotel was ever seriously updated, giving the place a very outdated look. Don't expect modern conveniences that you could find at any less expensive hotel like a mini fridge or microwave.

The pool and hot tub is located on the 7th floor across a wooden deck on the mountain. I only hope that the wooden deck is maintained better than the rest of the facility or else one day a guest man break through and drop 7 stories to their death.

The hotel is located in the historic part of town right down the street from the bathhouses. There are lots of places to eat within walking distance.

Room was ok clean, not spotless. Thought a couples massage would be good but one massage person was over a hour and a half late so we got a replacement. Massage room was at FORTY degrees.....really hard to relax when your teeth are chattering. a rip off in prices for everything, by the way the mineral water is free by the gallon if you take a short walk down the street to the fountain. The nicest guy we met was a little store north of hotel who gave us a cork screw to open a bottle of wine with. would not go back, there must be better things to do and go in the area.

Room Tip: read some more reviews, I hope others had a better time elsewhere.
