“Best Lunch In Town”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

I've been visiting the Cheese Corner since the 1970s. It's changed owners more than once over the years but has consistently been the "go to" place in Hot Springs for a classic "Soup n' Sandwich" lunch.

It can be difficult to get there during business hours, they're only open weekdays for lunch so if you find yourself in town at lunch time during the week, be sure to work the Cheese Corner into your schedule.

The soups are always sumptuous and the sandwiches are fantastic. It doesn't really matter what you order, I've never had anything there I didn't love and the selection of cheeses is one of the best you'll find in Arkansas.

The building is very old and rustic, restrooms are small and cramped but clean. If you're the sort of person who doesn't want to walk past a mop bucket to get to the restroom, this isn't the place for you. Old school charm and a warm feeling you may have just slipped back in time to the 1970s are all just part of the experience.

The service is always friendly and attentive without being intrusive. I just can't think of anything negative to say to this long time staple of Hot Springs dining.

“Looking for a Reuben”
Reviewed 19 March 2013

Googled best Rueben in Hot Springs and Cheese Corner came up with good reviews. From friend from Dallas was here and needed a Reuben fix. Cool little old building, brick walls, very homey. The Rueben was very good wiith just the right amount of cheese, nice marble rye, meat sliced just right and heated to a good temperature. Definitely not fancy but good food and very reasonably priced.

“Neat Sandwich Place”
Reviewed 22 October 2012

Walked there from the Convention Center for lunch. Very good ruben on rye sandwich and the potato soup was also homemade and good. The oatmeal raisin cookies are good for dessert. They have several cheeses to try but I didn't get that. The next table had a sampler plate with about 10 different cheeses that looked good and they seemed to be enjoying it. After I ordered they brought me a local magazine to read but only got through the first few pages when my meal arrived. The wait staff is friendly and the atmosphere is "where the locals eat". I will go back and the lunch was $10 including the iced tea.
