“Perfect weekend getaway!”
Reviewed 9 April 2011

We desperately needed a long weekend away from all the regular stress of life. After some debate on where to fly that offered the least amount of effort and travel time, I Googled short drive trips from DFW and was immediately directed to Hot Springs, Arkansas! This lovely inn popped up and of course the trip adviser reviews were awesome! This Inn was just what the doctor ordered. The weekend was cold and rainy, but no worries, you could spend your entire time here and just relax! The common areas are comfortable complete with overstuffed chairs, books, newspapers, movies, games, binoculars, snacks, coffee, soft drinks....
The bird and wildlife watching is amazing!

We stayed in the Hot Springs suite (most bang for your buck I think) with private entrance and covered parking. There is a lovely canopy bed, a separate sitting area with fireplace and a "to-die" for bathroom. The whirlpool tub and the body sprays in the shower were perfect...in addition to the continuous hot water! The suite has a little refreshment center with mini-fridge, microwave, keurig coffee/tea maker and snacks. The staff will bring your breakfast to the patio table at your request! We did that the first day, but it was just too cold outside the rest of the time! Strolling over to the dining room for breakfast was not a problem and the staff attends to your every need.

We were able to view some of the other rooms at the Lookout Point Inn and they are all exactly like the photos on the website... better! My other recs are:
*Mountain View, standard King with private entrance (second floor over Hot Springs), smaller room, no fireplace, but less money and you still get the mini-fridge, microwave
and a nice balcony.
*Evening Shade-lovely and on the other end of the inn, gas fire place, but not that much more to splurge for Hot Springs. Nice patio with rocking chairs.
*Pocahontas had the best view and balcony with rocking chairs.

Breakfast every day was amazing and quite substantial! We were always stuffed and didn't really need to eat again until later in the afternoon. The Wine and dessert reception was fabulous. They have a light dining service if you don't want to go out and they will pack you a picnic lunch if you want. The staff was attentive, but non-intrusive. We did not meet the owners that weekend, but the innkeepers, Tricia, Leanne and Bruce- all wonderful!

Hot springs has a ton of spas (Spa city you know) and one of the original bath houses is still in operation. Horse racing, casinos, tons of yummy restaurants, some art galleries, quirky museums, beautiful arboretum, the national parks, hiking, boating, fishing, etc.

I will recommend this vacation spot to everyone I know. Thanks again to Lookout Point Lakeside Inn for a perfect long weekend!

I am not a huge fan of Hot Springs National Park. In fact I'm not quite sure how it comes to acquire the lofty status of National Park, but certainly our stay at the Lookout Point Lakeside Inn made our visit to the area memorable. A beautiful location on Lake Hamilton with stunning views of the lake, excellent staff, extraordinary rooms (we had the Hot Springs room, which provided maximum privacy), and a superb breakfast.
It is listed as a bed & breakfast, but it actually felt more like an inn. The difference is probably more in my imagination, but it just seems like most Bed & Breakfasts leave you with the feeling you are imposing on another person's hospitality, even if it is totally unintentional. I never felt that way at Lookout Point. I couldn't afford to stay there for an extended period, but for a short visit in the area, I don't believe there is anything comparable.

That's an interesting comment about the Hot Springs National Park, and you are right: the HSNP is certainly different from other National Parks. This park is our country's only urban National Park, situated right in the historic downtown. The land was originally set aside by the government in 1832 (making it the first national park in the country) in order to protect the natural hot springs flowing out of the mountains downtown.
People were traveling from all over the country to Hot Springs in order to receive the healing treatments of the natural thermal waters at the pools and bath houses.
Thanks for staying at Lookout Point!

I loved this place, because after all the craziness of our wedding and reception I was able to get away the first night there. Also, I loved the way they were very personal by knowing your name, instead of the old routine of ma'am and sir. It was a wonderful experience because It was our sweet baby/honeymoon, and they respected all our request with the items we did or did not want/need. Kristie/Ray are awesome and so are their staff!! I will defintely be returning and requesting Nikki on my next visit!!I planned to rent a condo on my next experience!!

Room Tip: I love the Hot Springs Suite.

Once again, we were not disappointed by choosing a bed and breakfast from Select Registry. Lookout Point Inn was magnificent. We stayed in the Pocahantas room which had a balcony overlooking the lake - We spent many hours just relaxing on the balcony reading and watching and listening to the birds. The beds were sooooo comfortable and the room was spotless. Ray and Kristie were the perfect hosts - ready to assist with anything you needed. The breakfasts were delicious; the afternoon goodies were awesome and they also had an area where you could help yourself to coffee, soda and other snacks 24 hours a day. Ray and Kristie were kind enough to allow us to use their membership at the Jockey Club at Oaklawn which was also amazing!!!! It would have been more fun if we won, but one thing Ray and Kristie would not give us were the names of the winning horses!!! It will be difficult to find another bed and breakfast like to Lookout Point Inn with such gracious hosts at Ray and Kristie!!! Thanks again so much.

A view beyond "On Golden Pond." A terrace landscape with serpentine walkways. The sound of running water at every turn, A canoe for the lake.. Forsythia, Dogwoods, and Japanese Maples. A labyrinth to walk your way to calm. And a staff that is there only when you need them.

This is a special place.

This is the first time I travel without staying in The "Hotel". However, Lookout Point is better, No, the Best place that I have ever had. My wife and I have a wonderful hot tub. The breakfast is so so so fresh and tasty. Actually, we are going to again next month. HaHa~~

Every minute of our stay was really perfect! The staff was very welcoming and made us feel at home the minute we stepped in. The room (number 9) was cozy, the view was wonderful! You couldn't hear anything but the birds chirping! Our room did not have a kitchenette, fridge or microwave, but the inn offer a 24/7 access kitchenette area, with drinks (hot and cold) and snacks, that you can take to your room or enjoy in their several common areas (reading rooms, TV room). The inn is perfectly located, in a secluded little spot but also very close to everything you should need (shopping centers, restaurants, gas stations and so on).
We really enjoyed our stay and will go back for sure.
The best of it all was the service provided by the entire staff and the location!
Lookout Point is the perfect spot to escape and relax for a night or more!
