“Great romantic getaway”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 September 2011

My husband and I spent a lovely weekend at the Hilltop Manor. Room (Magnolia) was beautiful, food was superb (especially the carmelized french toast and afternoon snacks), hospitality was wonderful (Faith is a welcoming, well informed and gracious hostess)

Room Tip: There is a video on each of the suites on YouTube. Watch them all to pick the best room for you.

My daughter was married at Hilltop Manor. Not only was the ceremony and reception a lovely experience, but our 2 night stay was outstanding. Faith makes you feel like you are visiting in her home, not staying in a hotel. Our small group filled all of the rooms and we had wonderful evenings sitting on the front porch enjoying the beautiful grounds. I highly recommend Hilltop Manor.

I planned a wedding for me and my husband was appalled at the minor charges! My mom couldn't even come in the room with me except for the last 15 minutes, so I had to get ready with NO help! The service I requested was from a Christian and our vows and ceremony were of an Eastern Religion with not one word of God! It was all about the winds and fire! Very disappointing! We paid for 2 additional guests and when I called to add 2 others, we ended up having to pay for the 10 guest package, but nothing changed (size of cake) except 10 chairs were set out. We had to watch our clock because if you go over the 30 minute reception even by a minute, you get charged. It's a very stressful place to get married!

I am very sorry that you were unhappy with your wedding. I’m surprised that this is the first I have heard about any disappointment, since it says it took place December 2010; almost an entire year ago. I am confused as to how you can be upset with us about the additional costs when you state you decided to change the wedding package; we didn't change any of our inclusions. It seems reasonable that when you originally booked the 2 Person Package, which discloses just the Bride & Groom can be present ,on the website, that there would be additional costs with additional people and time. The Small & Sweet Wedding Package for 10 people does include a full hour (not 30 minutes), up to 8 guests, a larger cake and beverage for your guests. A contract is signed which details additional options and cost (additional time can be added so you can have assistance getting ready). I am sorry that you didn't like the ceremony, which includes traditional and customized elements. Many couples do request a copy of the ceremony ahead of time and we can customize the ceremony to fit your needs; as is stated on our website. I did just place a copy of our ceremony on the wedding web page so that there is no confusion. Thank you for bringing forth that idea. Hilltop Manor does everything possible to make this a fabulous time in your life, we are very detailed and make certain that you know exactly what is and isn't included in the wedding package so there are no surprises. The choice is then yours as to whether or not you wish to have your wedding at Hilltop Manor and/or add additional accompaniments. I do want to thank you for taking the time to review us and wish you both the best. We strive to be the best and to continually improve your experience.

We stayed at Hilltop Manor when we went to pick our son up from a nearby summer camp. Hilltop Manor is located just on the north side of downtown Hot Springs and is surrounded by the flora and fauna of Hot Springs National Park. It is a beautiful setting!

We were met at the door by Faith, the owner, who gave us the history of the beautiful 1890's craftsman home and a quick tour. The home has many of original touches and finishes. We stayed in the Rose Suite, which is upstairs on the front side of the home. It is a large suite with a king bed and 3 small sitting areas! There is a wicker loveseat and chair to watch television. There is a bistro table and chairs tucked into the eave for breakfast if you wise to eat in your room. And there is a chaise lounge in front of a side window if you might like to stretch out and read. The room is decorated in florals of red, khaki, and pale green. The bed is a beautiful iron bed with floral motifs. The mattress was a little soft for our tastes, but I'm sure some would love it. The bathroom is large and bright with a jacuzzi tub and shower combination. There were cozy robes, bath products, and plenty of bath towels.

In the alcove at the top of the stairs, Faith has a refrigerator stocked with water and soft drinks, a microwave, baskets of snacks and sweets. There are also wine glasses, ice buckets, and cork screws. She has everything that one might need for that romantic or relaxing get-a-way!

Downstairs, there is a huge, stone front porch with plenty of seating to relax and enjoy the views. The main living room is enormous with the original stone fireplace on one end and comfortable seating for reading or playing games. There are also bistro tables on the front porch or in the living room if one would choose to eat there. There is an area with a coffee and tea maker that is available 24/7 with mugs and to-go cups. Faith has thought of everything and keeps menus from local restaurants, area attraction brochures, books, and DVDs out for use during your stay.

Every morning, a gourmet breakfast is served in the location of your choice. The meal was wonderful and was a perfect start to our day! The day we were there, we started with coffee, orange juice, a mixed berry cream compote and a scottish scone. The berry compote was divine and the scone was tender and flaky! The breakfast main course was blueberry french toast and a sausage, egg, and cheese casserole. It was all wonderful! We were stuffed! Unfortunately, we had to leave early on our second morning and had to miss breakfast. But, no worries, Faith packed us a basket of goodies to take with us!

In addition to the delicious breakfast, Hilltop Manor serves drinks and snacks at 4pm each afternoon. She serves a beverage of your choice - a glass of wine or a beer perhaps and both a savory and sweet snack. The choices change daily. We enjoyed a veggie tray and amaretto cheesecake bars one afternoon. We had a cheese platter, stuffed jalapeños, and raspberry bars the next afternoon.

We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely plan to return next year! Or sooner, if we can!

Room Tip: It was HOT when we were there, AC had trouble keeping up, especially upstairs. Get a room down for...

My wife and I made our second trip to Hot Springs and decided to try a different B&B this time! We were not disappointed as this ended up being our best bed and breakfast experience ever! The owner, Faith, provided exceptional service and the breakfasts she served were some of the best that I have ever had!!! The escape from the busy city life was a huge part of our decision to come to this B&B but the reviews of how pleasant everyone's experience with this place could not have been any more correct! We stayed in the Magnolia room and had a great view of the front lawn waterfalls with the mountains as a backdrop! I recommend breakfast on the patio to experience the beautiful sunrise and scenery. You can't go wrong with this place as Faith and her staff will take great care of you!!!
