“Quaint personalized cottage feel”
Reviewed 2 August 2013 via mobile

King suite was cute and Eric provided extra special attention to detail. If you like personal attention and a quaint place to stay, you'll be happy. Loved the evening swims in the very private pool.Loved sitting on the little porch at night.

This is not a chain hotel. Expect somewhat dated but well maintained styling--the recent pictures look like they updated it since I was there but figured I would chime in on reviews since we were repeat customers and would go back. It was clean, comfortable, and a great value! We've stayed her twice over the years with 2 sets of owners. Have to say like the more recent European owners better. The rooms we stayed in were the Safari Suite (2012) and the Rose Room (2009 or 2010).

When you get to the hotel you think you may have made a mistake. It looks like an older hotel with a house on the property. There are basically 3 buildings, 2 single floor buildings with rooms and the main building where the owner(s) live and there are additional rooms upstairs. There is a pool with a fenced entry at the main house. The first time we stayed there a single man owned it and it was run somewhat haphazardly (we were told to basically let ourselves in to the room, he was out running errands). The second time we stayed the European owners we in charge though we only met the husband as the wife was overseas visiting relatives.

The Rose room was smaller, perfect for a couple with an attached bath located in the smallest of the 3 buildings on the property. It was well-maintained, older styled, and perfect for us. Since there are only 2 rooms on the smallest of the 3 buildings we had a good degree of privacy.

The Safari room has basically 4 rooms--a small bath, 2 bedrooms and a kitchenette. When we were here the kitchenette and bath were in need of some updates, the bedrooms had already had updates made. This was spacious and perfect for us to share with my mother. It is the closest to the road so there was some road noise, and directly across from the main house so we saw the owner pretty much daily.

Ask about discounts to local attractions as the current owners appear to buy into some kind of discount packages and we were able to get discounted rates to the bath house.

We stayed here both times to go Crystal Digging and had a wonderful time. The current owners did not know as much about digging, previous owner did.

This is a bit off the main drag so be prepared to either walk a bit of a ways to get to the main street or drive and park.

Was well stocked while we were here both times, though the first time we were told there would be fresh cinnamon buns that never came---the old owner was a bit odd.

Overall we would stay here again.

Room Tip: Stay in the Cottage for more privacy.

Made reservations for a long weekend through the owner, Eric. Only room available at the time was the "Hot Springs" room, the smallest room on the property. Eric was quite aplogeteic about us taking that room for 3 nights, and promised to get us into seomthing larger if there was a cancellation. On the morning after checking in, he approached us to ask if we would still like a larger room, but wouldn't be sure which room if there was one. He said he would move our belongings while we were out, we said OK. Upon our return that afternoon, all our belongings, including the contents of the mini-fridge, were in a 2-room cottage (Eric said built in the 1920's) that had a lot of personality!

Don't let the first impression of neighborhood fool you; definetly the "funky" and older section of Hot Springs, but with a few bistros and a decent coffee shop. Convenient to Bath House Row and AR-7.

Alpine Inn has some covered parking available.

WIll definetly stay at The Alpine Inn on our next visit!

Room Tip: For 1-2 nights, smaller rooms OK.

We were only staying one night so we trusted the reviews and I'm glad we did. This is a very small place and is nice and quiet. There aren't any fancy decorations, and when we drove up we were a little apprehensive. The hotel is run by a couple who reside on the property. You ring a bell and wait for someone to check you in. The bed was very comfortable! The pool is small but goes to a depth of 8 ft. This was a very affordable night's stay. One note - if you are a techie or just have more than a phone - there aren't too many electrical outlets.

Room Tip: Check their web site. The rooms have names.

I stayed at the Alpine Inn right after getting engaged at the national park, and Eric made us feel so welcome and special. We stayed in one of the king suites in the top story of the building, which included a small living room area with a couch and tv, a king bed, a kitchen with microwave, table/chairs, sink, bathroom, and small balcony. The room was very clean and spacious. The Alpine Inn is very charming and provides a great alternative to staying at a chain hotel. We would definitely stay here again and have already recommended it to others. Also, make sure to greet Al, the friendly inn cat (he is white with black spots). Thanks for the great hospitality!

We just returned from our short trip to Hot Springs and our 2 night stay at the Alpine Inn. What a wonderful little motel! The Alpine Inn is a few blocks north of downtown Central Avenue and a few blocks south of President Bill Clinton's boyhood home on Park Ave.

Everything was super clean, including the room and the pool. The beds were very comfortable and loved the European style bedding. We stayed in Unit #1, the Safari Room. It has 2 bedrooms, with a total of 3 beds, 2 TVs, one bathroom and a kitchenette. I traveled with my husband and 11 year old son, who are both night owls so it was nice to be able to escape to my own bedroom and go to sleep while they watched TV in the other bedroom. The kitchenette included a coffee pot with plenty of coffee/filters, big hefty coffee mugs, a mini fridge, a microwave, sink and a small table.

The neighborhood may look a bit shabby but I felt perfectly safe. In fact, the first night I accidentally left the room key in the door and had no problems or unwanted visitors!

Eric, the owner, was very accommodating and friendly. He made sure to turn the AC units on in our room about an hour before our arrival. Be sure to ask him for discount tickets if you plan to visit the Mountain Tower. Oh, and be sure to meet the friendly motel cat that took up residence on our front steps.

My only tip is to book a room with a higher room number as it will be farther from the road, which is very busy but nothing that the AC couldn't drown out.

I highly recommend the Alpine Inn if you are looking for a fun, retro alternative to the cookie cutter rooms of newer hotels. Can't wait to visit again!

Room Tip: Rooms with larger numbers have less road noise.

We looked on line for B&Bs checking out the area for an OES reunion in July 2014. The rooms, with different themes, were as advertised on line; some had even been upgraded and renovated since the photos. The owner Eric upgraded our room to a king suite, complimentary, and we loved it. His wife Leslie was away in Scotland getting ready for their son's wedding; Eric to follow later. Upstairs at the main house there are two king suites connected by the balcony. It was a spacious suite with computer desk and settee in sitting area, large bedroom with tv and settee (no sleeper sofas here) kitchen and bath. Even though we were near the road, no traffic noises bothered us. The establishment was pretty full as the Blue Knights motorcycle rally was in town. (along with the Miss Arkansas pageant!) Eric was extremely helpful with local eateries, places to see and their special discounts to local attractions; we went to all three in one day! He was very attentive to our needs in checking out the place for our reunion the next year and showed us rooms when they became available. Always asked at day's end if we were doing okay and could he do anything. The pool area is private, well maintained and has a great seating area for gatherings. Pool is not heated, except by solar sun, but was very refreshing; towels provided. The rear gathering area has tables and chairs in separate seatings, umbrella and nice and quiet. Rooms on ground level all have small patio with chairs. We sat on our balcony and noticed the residents sitting outside in the morning with their coffee; all very relaxed atmosphere friendly. A definite gem in the Hot Springs area, affordable value for services, quaint and not cookie cutter box hotel style. A recommendation to all to check it out. We will certainly be holding our reunion here next year and I have already reserved our rooms!

Room Tip: The larger suite rooms have a kitchenette, if needed. All rooms have coffee pot and fridge, some hav...
