Panther Valley Ranch
Reviewed 28 July 2012

We arrived here at the ranch on Saturday afternoon from The Colony TX to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary. For the most part in the past we have usually taken cruise ship and beach vacations. We really wanted to make our first year wedding anniversary a priority and just take a few days to ourselves to get away from our usual chaotic, demanding lives without spending a lot of money and going somewhere different with a new experience. Upon arrival, the ranch immediately gave off a very welcoming, warm vibe of simplicity and tranquility. The staff was very friendly and very accommodating. The Ranch Suite was absolutely perfect. Calm, quiet, cold AC, and much to our surprise and a blessing in disguise, no cell phone service or internet access. We were unable to fish due to the pond being dried up but we did enjoy the view anyway. We spent our first evening in grilling and watching movies. On Sunday, the morning of our anniversary we spent the morning at Quapaw Spa which I highly recommend. Excellent, friendly, staff and phenomenal services offered at a good rate. I recommend the steam cave. We visited the Wax Museum and the local shops on Central Ave. We would recommend traveling to the area on Saturday and staying through Monday as to avoid the usual tourist traffic on a typical Saturday at any resort town. We spent our last evening here grilling steaks, enjoying cold beer and wine and just enjoying each other’s company in the peace and quiet. Overall, it was a very pleasurable and enjoyable experience. We would highly recommend Panther Valley Ranch in the future. Thanks for the experience.

Carriebo road trips need a good finish to them to leave a lasting memory - a good memory that is. So glad the ranch did it for you - come back and see us next time you are out on one of those road trips.
Thanks for the excellent review,
Roger

My mom took me here for a birthday girls outing, and despite my original hesitation, this place was GREAT!

The rooms were clean and had a very country home feel to them (as you would expect from a ranch).

This was my first visit to Arkansas, so I wasn't sure what to expect overall, but this ranch provided us with all we needed! There were several families, couples and friends there. The owners were nice and knowledgeable.

The horse back riding was really relaxing, and the steak was DELICIOUS! Do NOT go here and not get your steak! lol

LOVED it - and I am hoping to take my husband one of these days.

Me and my new husband went to the panther valley ranch for our honeymoon beginning of May 2012. It was VERY relaxing, great cabin, loved the horse back riding, and the view and fishing. We want to go back on our anniversaries to come. I would rate this place a 15 out of 10. Staff was VERY friendly also. We stayed in the Cowboy Suite.

Amazing place to stay. You have got to stay here instead of a hotel!! Homey, comfortable, clean, beautiful....I could go on and on. Loved the horses too!! Went riding and it was so wonderful!

Very nice location, pitty that it was raining a lot & we were not able to make a riding trip.

Hotsprings is not far away, and we took a nice bath in Quapaw Bath & Spa.

Beds needs to be made by yourself. The price is normal for the region.

I recommend the hotel, nice retreat for couples, or families with children.

OVERALL: We will be back for another visit! This was a great getaway to spend with my husband. We enjoyed everything about this wonderful ranch. The only complaint has to do with the lack of communication about policies; we were unsure what to do in multiple situations.

CABINS: The cabins are very well kept up. We stayed in the WESTERN which was an incredibly large 400 sq foot cabin attached to another cabin. The king size bed was super comfortable and there were two bathrooms. The jacuzzi bath was lovely and our sink was so cleaver. There were some bugs that got in the cabin, but that is to be expected for a place this far in nature. In the kitchen, we were provided with coffee for the coffee maker as well as dishes and such to make our own meals. The gas fireplace was a lovely touch as well.

GROUNDS: The ranch is lovely and we only wish we could have been there when the trees had leaves and the flowers were in bloom. The lake was a nice sight to wake up to and the horses grazing on the grounds was just so peaceful.

OFFICE & STAFF: we arrived after hours, and our cabin was ready to go. We checked in the following morning, paid our bill, and didn't ever have to go back to the office. We checked out on a Sunday, and the office was closed; we just left our key in our cabin and left. Note: They didn't make this very clear and we waited until 9:30 for the office to open, and we didn't know that we could just leave the key and go.
The office also provides you with DVDs and a couple board games to occupy your time if nature isn't your thing. The trail guide for the horseback riding was great and gave us just enough advice to make us comfortable but not feel like children.

WHAT TO BRING: jeans, tennis shoes, hiking shoes, food for meals, fishing poles (or they can provide you with some), camera
