“Good hotel, no surprises”
Reviewed 14 May 2013

I stayed here on a recent business trip to Madison. Everything was fine - the room was spacious, the temperature control was in working order, wireless signal was strong, the bathroom was clean and the bed was comfortable. I missed having a normal-sized sitting chair but this was probably because I was given a room with two queen beds. My room was on the highway side but the road noise was not noticeable this trip. A good stay.

Room Tip: Pick a room that doesn't face the highway.

Nice place. New, fresh, great breakfast. Large rooms. Good WiFi signal. Decent workout room. Shuttle to/from airport (some hours of operation apply). Friendly, professional staff. Uno restaurant next door. Movie theater one block away. Large mall within a mile.

Staff were friendly and accomodating. Were very quick at processing our reservation. Room was clean and well presented. Breakfast was very nice. Parking spots had easy access. Exactly what we needed for a night's rest and exactly what I have come to expect from the Marriott family of hotels. Certainly a cut above the average.

Following up on a great Fairfield stay in Holland, MI earlier in the month, I went with the Madison Fairfield, over a couple of similar hotels in the immediate vicinity. Good choice on my part. This is a newer Fairfield (last review was a recently rehabbed older one), and I continue to say they have it nailed perfectly for business travelers. King rooms are very nice with just what you need, and none of what you don't need. The rooms are on the smaller side, but again, I'm alone in it, sleeping for (hopefully) 8 hours, and working at the desk for 3-4 hours outside of that.
My only - very minor - complaint would be on the continental breakfast. Ditch the Jimmy Deans sandwiches and just have a chaffing platter of eggs and sausage or bacon. Very difficult for those of us trying to avoid carbs and gluten. See what Country Inn & Suites and Comfort Suites are doing in regard to this. Kuddos on the wide selection of hot sauces, though.

We had spent one night at this hotel, while attending a wedding in the Madison area. It is a very nice hotel with a very friendly and helpful staff. The regular rooms were nice but a little on the small size but had have a nice size bathroom. The only thing I did not like about the room was the bed was very hard, (I personally like softer beds). The breakfast was good and kept well stocked by the staff. The pool area was very chlorinated and caused my eyes to burn, I just did not spend much time in the pool.

Room Tip: Ask for a handicap room, if available, it is larger and more roomy.

Well, my stay was great. Hotelwas very clean, service was great, HOWEVER, I booked through Priceline and then was charged again by Fairfield. So I was double billed. Luckily I noticed this on my credit card statement, or they would have gotten away with this. I called to get this addressed and they initially told me they would send a notice to Priceline to refund my account, and it would take some time. Then after I stated this was unacceptable, I was told they would reverse the charges today. I understand accidents happen, however, anything but immediate charge reversal is unacceptable in this situation.

Overall great little hotel. Much nicer than some of the older generation fairfield inn's out there. We stayed the weekend to go ski at nearby cascade mountain. The hotle was very clean and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The pool was small but there were never more than 5 people in there at a time. Great value with breakfast included.
