We don't travel often and this was the 1st time with our dog. Both La Quinta's were welcoming to us and our companion. Rooms were clean and quiet. Getting in and out was easy each time. La Quinta has become our hotel of choice.

Air conditioning wasn't working properly and hotel was not clean. Pool needed to be scrubbed - water was cloudy. There was a lot of dog/cat hair on carpet. They had not cleaned floor or bathtub in awhile. They were gray. Carpet was very dusty around edges. It looked as though they had not dusted anything in a long time.

Recently had a 3-night stay at this hotel, which is located in an office park. You will never find it without a GPS and possibly a guide dog. There are no directional signs to the property and it's within the labyrinth of office park roads. So come prepared.

We had a handicapped accessible suite with a roll-in shower with one bed plus a sofa-bed. There was an area in our room with microwave and fridge separating the living area from the bedroom. There were two A/C units, one in the living room and one in the bedroom, each with a separate thermostat. Within minutes of checking in (early afternoon) we received a call from the front desk to see if everything was ok with our room, and we let them know one AC unit wasn't cooling properly. Maintenance was there within a couple of minutes to get the unit reset and we had cool air. Great service.

The room was clean and other than the initial AC issue, everything worked properly. The sofa bed is the type your grandma might have that folds up inside the couch with a thin mattress and a bar that hits you just at the wrong spot in your back. The hotel should investigate newer types of hospitality sofa beds that are almost like a true bed once you unfold them. People who book rooms with sofa beds often need to sleep on the sofa beds! And it's not always children who get stuck on them.

You will need a car if staying here -- there is an Irish restaurant that is somewhat within walking distance but that's it for nearby food options. There is a gas station/convenience store across from the pub. If you want to stock up on beer or need to fuel up, dial up the Woodman's on your GPS instead; it's about a mile away and is your best choice for both.

One of this hotel's best features is the bartender. Wish I had gotten her name, but she is great. The hotel has an evening happy hour, and we received a Buy One Get One Free coupon that we could use once during our stay.

The breakfast, however, is one of the disappointing features. The breakfast bar setup leads one to believe the buffet offerings will be better than average and that there might even be some hot items on the bar in the morning. Unfortunately that was not our experience. The waffle maker overcooked the waffles, one in our group proclaimed the fresh apples to be tasteless (how does that even happen?), and the selection of breads and bagels was very slim. They didn't even have jams and jellies for the breads. Pastries were dry and unappealing. One morning, the breakfast area was messy with trash around the coffee area, wrappers and such. One worker came out to restock the cereal, and she completely ignored the trash and coffee drippings that were on the counter right in front of her and never came back to clean it up. I stayed at this hotel with a group of at least five rooms, and the (lack of) quality at the breakfast bar became our running joke all week.

I would stay here again, I would just not expect much in the way of breakfast.

This is a very nice hotel in sort of an office/medical complex a little off the interstate so it is convenient & quiet . Someone said it is 20 years old, but it is well-maintained for that. Staff is friendly, breakfast had hot/cold items restocked nicely. King room was spacious with couch & mini-fridge. We pick LaQuintas because pets can stay free & we have 2 dogs (they also allow cats). We made a last-minute reservation so maybe it was just that, but the pet-friendly rooms seem to be up the elevator on the 2nd floor. So we had to take them through the lobby & one of our dogs wasn't too happy about the elevator. Most hotels have pet rooms near an exit on the first floor, so this was a bit unusual. But we managed, even when one of our dogs insisted she needed to go out at 3 am. It 's a safe area, just a bit embarrassing to go thru the lobby in semi-jammies. Will stay there again if we go through there again.

Room Tip: Book direct with the hotel & ask where the pet room is if you have a pet in case yours won't...

After traveling for 13 hours with a 3 month old, we decided to stop and get some much needed rest at La Quinta. After being denied a room due to "lack of availability" we called an agency to help us out in finding a room. Coincidentally, they called La Quinta and they said they had a room we could get in right then and there!(Not knowing the room was for us of course) So she lied to us for whatever reason I can not fathom. The woman at the front desk had no interest in helping us out and was unbelievably rude and tried charging us again on a different card after we had already paid (It was either that or pay 250 dollars up front!). After an HOUR of trying to figure out why they needed more money with a fussy infant in need of a nap, we finally got the room after getting outrageous glares from the woman at the front desk while we were on the phone with customer service. I was exhausted, outraged, and offended. We finally got to our room and their demeanor changed right away after dealing with customer service (of course!) So if you'd like to be charged only once for a hotel room without problems, I highly suggest you go anywhere but here!! Save yourself the stress! I would have never stayed here if our payment was refundable!

clean, easy to get to freeway, easy check in and out. Some road work which could hamper getting to hotel, food was okay, person working area was helpful and it was clean. Pool looked nice, did not use it. If going to a Badger game I think it would be easy to get to game.

Outstanding location for business/pleasure on Madison's east side. Very helpful, friendly staff. Central air was somewhat loud but I finally became use to it. Good size for two people. Excellent bed!!!
