“Perfect Hotel for a Celebration!”
Reviewed 19 April 2012

My husband and I decided on an overnight stay in Madison to celebrate my 50th at the end of March. After talking with friends and discussing our options we chose HotelRED. The weather was perfect so the balcony in our suite was an added bonus! We were able to have a glass of wine and take in the views of Camp Randall Stadium and the Capitol! Though the hotel sits on a busy road the room was very quiet. The bed was extremely comfortable as were the pillows which is such an important detail. Though there are so many restaurant choices in Madison we decided to stay at the hotel and eat at The Wise. The wine selection was great and the food was exceptional. We had several small plates to share including the El Sabio sampler platter, Hand Cut Fries, and Seared Sea Scallops. Service staff was extremely friendly in both the restaurant and hotel - I was greeted by several staff members with a "Happy Birthday!" HotelRED is such a great addition to Madison. Thanks HotelRED for adding to the wonderful memories of my 50th!

We traveled to Madison for a concert this past weekend and after passing this hotel while in construction in the past, decided to give it a try.

It was amazing. Upon check in we were given chocolate and upgraded to the top floor, two room suite. My friend was going to sleep on the sleeper sofa and was very excited to get his own bed. The room had a huge balcony, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen, dining table, and living room. Wonderful mini bar and snacks (beef sticks!) Also a keurig with everything you need.

The hotel and room reminded me of Palms Place in Vegas, but HotelRED had more amenities. (aside from pool/spa..which this hotel doesn't have)

If the room wasn't enough, they also offer shuttle service free of charge. We had them drop us off at the concert and pick us up. Riding in a blacked out Suburban, felt like we had limo service. Be sure to tip well!

After the concert went back to the hotel, then had them take us to State St. Took a cab home, as the shuttle went til 1am.

Had breakfast at the Wise in the lobby. Get the goat cheese omelet. Yum.

When I return to Madison, I won't stay anywhere else.

Our travel plans got us to Madison a night earlier than expected and we decided to try HotelRED. The rooms are modern and well appointed. Our suite had a kitchenette as well. Our good sized balcony looked out across the street at the Field House. The front desk folks were very pleasant and yes, the wifi and parking was free. Other Madison hotels of this caliber will charge for internet access and parking adding an extra $35 per night to your stay. The honor bar had a basket of local snacks including Nueske’s beef sticks. The mini fridge was stocked with drinks including a 6 pack of Spotted Cow beer. It was good to be back in Madison!

Room Tip: book early if you want a room during special events, this place will sell out quick.

A uniique and very comfortable experience. The location is great - near Lake Wingra and walking distance to the U of WI stadium. This hotel is very modern and hi-tech, but soft were it counts - the bed was great! The shower was incredible and worth the price of admission! We visitied on a romantic get-away and had a great time.

A few things to note:
This is a small hotel, so book ahead
All rooms are "suites" which means a small fridge, a dishwasher, a microwave, glasses & silverware (although no table for eathing in our King suite), and coffee pot plus coffe & tea and a capsules and a pretty good mini-bar.
Free Parking for 1 car per room
A bit pricey - $140 + tax on a Friday night - not during football season.
As of April 2012 there are no In Room Movies, which is a shame because the large screen TV is great.

Room Tip: Rooms with even numbers face away from the street and away from the statium

We stayed one night at this beautiful hotel with great modern decor. The rooms are spacious and each have a balcony. However, there were very loud guests in the next room until well after 1am. I called guest services and they responded promptly but the noise continued for another 30 min. or so (til 2 am). Did not expect to have to deal with this in such an upscale hotel (and it was not a football game weekend where we would expect this).

We had a group of 10 people that stayed here for a birthday party. Our room was a 2 bedroom suite and it was so great! You MUST try the shower!! It was one of the best showers I've ever experienced at a hotel. The design of the hotel is fantastic, industrial but modern and chic. I loved the balcony it was huge and could fit our entire party easily on it all at one time. The rooms were very large and exceptionally clean. The hotel staff was very accommodating and friendly. We took the hotel shuttle to dinner which was so convenient. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone that is looking for a place to stay in Madison.
