For the price you'd be hard pressed to find a better place to stay. For less than the price of a typical hotel room you can get a two queen suite with a complete kitchenette. The kitchenette is stocked with dishes, and cooking utensils. The fridge is full sized. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The TV is outdated and oddly located such that it cannot be directly viewed from the beds, sofa or kitchen without turning 90 degrees on the cabinet on which it is located. The Friday breakfast staff couldn't keep up with the demand but the Saturday staff did a great. The breakfast woman on Saturday, Janet was fabulous and very accommodating. All in all a very nice stay while we toured UW-Madison with our son.

My wife and I had a very outstanding stay at this Grandstay Hotel. The staff was very accomodating and helpful. The Breakfast let by Janet was outstanding. Everything one would want to have for breakfast from cereal to waffles to omlets and much more. Janet made you feel so special when coming into the Breakfast. The room was great and the service outstanding. We would not hesitate to stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a great hotel and stay.

Room Tip: They are all good rooms. We stayed on the 3rd floor.

This is was my first experience with GrandStay and it was a very pleasant stay. I travel a lot for business and I will now be comparing my hotels to GrandStay from now on. The bed was extremely comfortable (but a little short for my friend who is 6'2) and there was cable and internet if you need that. There was a cute pool good for families and a decent workout facility. Every morning there is a really nice hotel breakfast and the breakfast attendant was wonderful. They had way more breakfast options than a lot of breakfast included places have. The shower was really nice and the rooms spacious. The TVs are definitely old, but work just fine so that wasn't an issue for me. The service was also incredibly nice. If I return to this area I would definitely stay again! It is 15-20 minutes away from downtown Madison, but it's an easy trip but also very close to other things in the area. This was amazing value and a definite gem.

Room Tip: Stay on the third floor...it can get a little loud if you're under a family.

Hotel was old and needs updating. Had issues with light socket which was taken care but housekeeping as subpar. Everyday even after hanging tag requesting cleaning of room, would be asked as leaving room if we needed housekeeping. Trash cans left without liners, no bath mat and bed was kinda made! Loud noise from folks staying in room above us, asked for help from front desk and told it was a long stay person.
Breakfast is plentiful, overall staff is very helpful.
There are at least 4 major hotel chains within a block with "residence" type properties which might be a better choice for comfort and amenities!

Room Tip: Ask for top floor facing back of hotel. Room/ceiling are not very soundproof and you can hear everyt...

We were very happy with our stay here over Memorial Day Weekend! The hotel was clean and well kept, the rooms were comfortable and quiet. The "heated" pool wasn't heated but the kids had a lot of fun irregardless. They also have a little play area in the back which was a nice extra. We would stay here again!

Room Tip: The higher up the better, but here we were in the first floor, in the first room, and it was very qu...

I am pleased you enjoyed your stay. Our recreation area is one of my personal favorite amenities at Grandstay, and I am happy you enjoyed it as well. I apologize for the temperature of the pool. I will notify our general manager of the issue.

Second experience with a GrandStay Residential Suite and another good experience. The rooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. The breakfast choices were adequate and quite reasonable considering the cost of a night's stay. The one negative, which was also our experience at the St. Cloud, Minnesota property was the extreme slipperiness of the bathtub surface when showering. Overall, a good bargain!

We are ever grateful for your compliments. Although we are a small hotel we are privileged to be able to provide a variety of breakfast items. However, I understand that an even wider array of food choices would make our breakfast even better. Thank you for the suggestion that the bathtubs be made less slippery. We are continually upgrading our hotel, and we hope to include such improvements in the future.
