This is how life should be: an entire street lined with stores and restaurants. The only problem is picking which restaurant because opportunity cost will always leave you feeling like you missed out. The solution is to come back another day and eat at a new place each time you visit. To hit all the spots to eat you'll need a month. As for stores, they is a wide selection and prices are reasonable since this is the Midwest after all. There are plenty of places hawking UW Badger items.

The entire state street is an eclectic shopping venture with a little bit of everything. Usually a lot of street performers and very broad spectrum of people come there. Some areas are getting a little divey looking, but generally safe during the day.

Everyone loves State St! With tons of shops, restaurants and sights to see, State St is the hub of Madison. It also has a beautiful view of the capitol.

We walked up and down State Street on Sunday morning. A lot of the places didn't open until noon. I was surprised at the number of chain places (Wendy's, Qdoba, Chipotle, Cold Stone) in just a few blocks. I'd check this street out again on a Friday or Saturday night in the summer. It was hard to interact with on a Sunday Morning. Not sure it was worth the $8 we paid for parking.
