Too many things were disappointing to name them all...but from check-in to the breakfast and then checking out it was NOT impressive. While the room itself was nice, the check-in was slow, our room wasn't ready so they wouldn't let us finish the check in process so we couldn't just pick up our keys and head up to our room when it was ready (as many other hotels do) our breakfast was COLD and NOT made as we ordered. The whole stay (other than the beds) were disappointing.

We initially were not happy with our room and the staff changed our room for us without us having to beg and plead. It was refreshing for them to go out of their way to change our room to a much nicer one. I understand that sometimes a hotel can't, but when they can, it makes a huge difference.

We stayed for 2 nights at this hotel. The location is convenient to restaurants, State Street and the Farmer's Market. However, we will not stay here again. We plan on going back to the Madison Concourse the next time we're in town (didn't have a room for us this time). The room was small and the carpets were worn. There was no room on the bathroom counter for more than the soap dish and toiletries that were already there. The air conditioner fan was quite loud. We either had to deal with the noise or the heat. So, we decided to open the sliding glass door (our room had a small patio that hadn't been cleaned in some time and the paint had numerous rust stains). We enjoyed the night breeze but the noise from a bar across the street became too much. We decided to live with the fan noise. We had a light breakfast in the restaurant (just fruit cups and coffee) but the waitress did not know how to charge this to our room. Parking is valet only.

It is in great location to State Street along the way to University of Wisconsin. On a scale of 1 to 5, and 5 being excellent, I rate this hotel location and quality at a "5." The staff were very helpful, and I felt comfortable at this hotel.

We stayed at the Inn on Park for Taste of the Midwest. It was a nice area and close to the Farmer's Market. It was also within walking distance to resturants and bars. We had a nice stay, but the room was expensive and the elevator didn't go up to the 9th floor. So, we had to walk through the hall of one of the other floors to get to a second elevator to take it up to the 9th floor since that used to be a "private floor". Well, the rooms weren't spectacular for a "private floor" and was not worth the pain of switching elevators.

The location is fantastic and that is clearly the best feature of this hotel. The rooms are dated and a bit tired. Breakfast in the restaurant (not included) was average and the service was poor (slow). The most frustrating thing was the very noisy air conditioning and plumbing systems. I was part of a group and several of us complained about the same issue. The air conditioner sounds like a jet engine when it starts up and wakes you up in the middle of the night. The bed was comfortable but the bedding was sparse. As a business traveller, I would have appreciated a desk.

Darryl, I appreciate the feedback. Based on guest comments we've made it a priority to eliminate the noise from our heating and air conditioning system. This is something we are actively working on and will resolve very soon. Thank you for taking the time to post a review. It truly does make a difference. -George

This is an older hotel with a great location but is overpriced for the amenities and ambiance. Staff is very young and unpolished. No help offered or provided for taking luggage to and from the room. Be sure to pay extra for a room with a view.
