I am a return visitor to the Speckled Hen and I always enjoy my stay. The rooms are spacious, lovely, and well-appointed. The delicious three-course breakfast changes day to day and features their own eggs and local produce. Innkeepers Heather and Tom are always accommodating and very committed to the quality of the experience at their inn. Don't miss it!

My husband has never let me book a bed and breakfast thinking you had to live in someone's house and share bathrooms. This property is beautiful and the previous owners converted their home into seperate rooms that have their own bathrooms. Most rooms have jacuzzi tubs and fire places. Saturday night was booked and we did not see or hear any of the other guests until Sunday morning at breakfast. By the way, the breakfast is the best thing I think I have ever had. They plant many of the fruits and vegetables on their property and use the eggs from their chickens and maple syrup from their trees. The owners are kind, friendly and run a beautiful inn. We also got the cheese platter when we checked in and enjoyed it over looking the animals. They provide everything you may need. There is open space in the Inn as well if you are going with family or friends. They provide games, movies, and more.

Room Tip: Very close to downtown Madison and farmers market

This was our fourth time at the Speckled Hen and the first since Tom and Heather took over in 2016. We had a little bit of trepidation: would the breakfast be as good as Bob and Pat's? Would the atmosphere be the same? The answer to both questions is a resounding yes!

There are fresh-baked cookies and refreshments in the common area, along with board games, books, a home theater, and a selection of wines. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean. The hosts are friendly and engaging, but give you space to enjoy and explore the property. Best of all, you're treated to a different breakfast each morning, usually consisting of three courses and made with food from the Speckled Hen farm.

You could pay $250 a night to stay in a chain motel with paper-thin walls and a boring continental breakfast, or for the same price you could book at the Speckled Hen Inn, which is quiet, clean, relaxing, and serves a sumptuous farm-to-table breakfast every morning. The choice is yours!

Wonderful and relaxing B&B. If you like staying at B&Bs there is nothing you won’t like at the inn. Inn keepers are as friendly and wonderful as they come. You’ll feel like old friends by the time you leave
