“Great stay!”

When in N.O. my wife and I usually stay right in the middle of the French Quarter, but because of a large convention in town we couldn't get a room in our regular place. That turned out to be a great break for us. La Maison Marigny and co-owner John were an outstanding alternative. Spotless and beautifully decorated, it is a 5 minute walk to the clubs on Frencman street and 10 minutes from the hubbub of Bourban street. John was around every morning to help with any questions or with suggestions. My wife and I and the friends of ours that also stayed there, enjoyed the morning conversation along with the delicious muffins. As my wife and like to get to New Orleans as much as possible, it just might be time for the Maison to become our new home away from home.

“Marvellous muffins!”

We stayed here for 3 nights and couldn't have hoped for better accomodation in New Orleans. Our welcome was superb, to the point that our host John, in salute to our British nationality, flew the Union Jack alongside Old Glory on the balcony outside our very well appointed room. The B & B was spotless and beautifully decorated. John was a wonderful host, full of information about the city and great fun with whom to shoot the breeze about issues of the moment, both major and minor. Oh, and his muffins .....we vouch that were you to travel from sea to shining sea, stopping at each eatery en route, you would not find the match of his home-made marvels. In every way, a B & B of taste!

“Perfect Nights at La Maison Marigny”

We booked 5 nights in NOLA, 2 at the W French Quarter and 3 here. This B&B was perfect. No noise from the street. A safe and pretty walk down to the action of Bourbon and Royal streets - but also near Frenchman and the hip bars and music clubs there. We stayed in the Owner's Suite, which was very large with a great bed and a nice living room area. John was very friendly and knowledgeable and made great conversation and breakfasts in the morning. I'd be happy to come back here anytime.

“lovely B&B”

This was our second stay with a group of friends at the Maison Marigny. The bedrooms are charmingly decorated in antiques and very clean. Breakfasts, made by John are delicious. We especially enjoyed the lovely garden and often sat out there to read the paper or chat. John is a wonderful host and gives great New Orleans advice. The neighbor hood is a terrific place for music--four clubs are a short walk away.

“A little bit of heaven- La Maison Marigny”
Reviewed 21 October 2008 for a stay in October 2008

We found a little bit of Heaven in New Orleans called La Maison Marigny.....Having never stopped in a B&B before I was just amazed at the wonderful stay my husband and I had at La Maison Marigny.....Starting with the warm welcome our host John gave us from the start, helping with luggage and offering us coffee the moment we arrived....the map and suggestions of eating places was so wonderful and every restaurant we tried and we tried many, lived up to the expectations John had described ....Please try Le Marigny Brasserie just around the corner for a really memorable meal...Yum....
Our room the Owner's Suite was breathtaking....the whole house was spotlessly clean and the decor just wonderful....all the designer touches made it extra special ....you need a full length mirror in the bedroom though please John ...
The luxury of the house from the quality of the towels to the comfy of the pillows and the softness of the designer red sheets....just gorgeous....the colors in the room were so great and the little added details made all the difference from making it into an extra ordinary guestroom and a wonderful feeling of home....
One of my favorite things was waking up to my alarm of John walking through the front door and the clanging in the kitchen then half an hour later the smell woofting through the door of baking cranberry and chocolate muffins one day, lemon poppy seed ones another day and scones another....the smell of chicory coffee ...
John's infectious personality and knowledge of New Orleans filling the memories of a great conversation over breakfast...
The den, the use of the kitchen and the gorgeous tropical courtyard just seemed like our own home with all it's homely touches....having the computer in the den always ready to use and the great taste in music that always could be heard coming from it when not in use......
The B&B was in a great location ....just a few blocks away from the greatest Orlean's music ....try the Spotted Cat Bar...doesn't look much but the atmosphere is second to none and the music and characters that frequent it was hours and hours of entertainment...no cover charge either...that's a plus
All in all I will never forget my stay at La Maison Marigny and I will never forget our wonderful host John....
We hope to return to New Orleans many times more in the future and will always stay at La Maison Marigny ..no hesitation
Thanks John for making this latest vacation one of the most memorable for us

“Convenient and Charming”

We stayed for 5 nights and got the Romantic Getaway Package, which was a nice deal. We found the location extremely convenient. John was an attentive host and full of input for where we should visit and eat; he even included his own map of favorite places. Breakfast was a great way to start your day. The rooms were clean and a nicely decorated and just as large as a hotel room. Amazingly, we were just a few steps from the hustle and bustle of Bourbon Street, but this part of Bourbon Street is a quiet neighborhood. I have already recommended this place to a few people and will probably stay again.

“Gem in the Jazz District!”
Reviewed 25 August 2008 for a stay in August 2008

I loved this small B&B in the Marigny, just outside the French Quarter. The place was well-decorated and my room was quite spacious (the suite). I was glad to have free use of the living room computer and the refrigerator (with complimentary sodas). The innkeeper was friendly and full of information, and very understanding when one of our party unexpectedly canceled.

It was a short walk to everything - I especially loved the nearby jazz clubs and restaurants on Frenchmen's Street and appreciated being a couple blocks from the French Quarter without the noise and chaos. The streetcar which connects to the convention center and the Garden District was also only a few blocks away. Their custom map of recommended restaurants and clubs came in handy many times.

Breakfast was simple (in accordance with New Orleans B&B rules) - but there was always fresh fruit and home-baked muffins, along with the usual cereal, yogurt, juice, milk and my favorite, chicory coffee. The only downside for me was that the airport shuttle doesn't stop there so I had to take a cab or walk to a hotel in the Quarter. But, I more than made up for the cab fare with the good deal on the room. Yes, I would definitely stay here again!
