Very colorful place focusing on the floats they prepare for Mardis Gras in in immense company warehouse. Good for picture taking, wish they went slower so we could take better pix. Guide was average, learned about the process they use to make them. Guess this is the only place to see them if you are not at Mardis Gras. Kinda pricey, but pretty unique. They have free shuttles to near the French Quarter, so they make it convenient.

The tour is very interesting. You see so much more then just the few pieces as you walk into the gift shop. The process, floats, and history is fascinating. It was so interesting to see all the floats and parts.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour here and seeing actual work in progress being done for the next Mardi Gras. You're given a wealth of information about how floats are created, the krewes that participate, the parades and even the corporate work that is done outside of work for the Mardi Gras. This place has it going on and looks like it would be a great place to work, especially if you're artistically gifted, unlike me ;-) It's also a great place to spend time when it rains. We planned it perfectly to miss a downpour while we were there on May 24th. Loved also having the free shuttle available.

It's hard to realize how much goes into Mardi Gras if you go when it's not Mardi Gras. This place puts the year round effort into perspective.

Interesting tour with lots of history of mardi gras and lots of awesome props and floats to see, the only reason for not giving 5 stars is the tour advertised you would get to try on costumes and take pictures with them but that was never offered on our tour.
