We like to go down to the Quarter on the weekend as there are so many artist on the square and street performers out. It is always fun to hear the music and see the art.

You can't help but love Jackson Square. Entertaining street musicians. Talented artists. Painters. Sculptors. Bums. Beggars. Crowds of people either rushing or walking slowly or just standing and staring. My advice is to take it all in. Enjoy it. Each and every one of these facets makes Jackson Square a wonderful place to be.

While on business in New Orleans Louisiana I had the opportunity to visit the Cathedral - Basilica of King Louis of France located in Jackson Square. It was a fabulous place I also reviewed on Tripadvisor. Outside of the church, there were psychics and tarot card readers which I found rather odd, but certainly enjoyed their craft and/or skills. There also was music from bands and local musicians, as well as many different kinds of street performers in Jackson Square during the day. There are street vendors selling food, park benches located all around to relax in, and the lush and green grounds make for beautiful photographs. The quiet and calm of the church visit was quite different from the activities outside of it, but they were all very enjoyable!

The monument and area is nice and kept clean. It's close to Cafe Du Mond. But we were approached by beggars every time we walked about 30 feet. This was 9 am on a Monday.

Jackson square is buzzing with energy. It is a mix of tarot readings artwork music and boutique stores and coffee shops. It's free to visit and a great place to spend an afternoon.
