This cemetery is a must see, whether you just take a brief stroll through or take your time to read the headstones. It really is a lovely cemetery. Also, make sure you walk around the Garden District, we ventured down St Charles Avenue and just admired the beautiful houses. Lovely area indeed.

I was surprised at how many people were there on a Monday. Really cool if you have never seen a New Orleans cemetary. So many stories here. Take time to read inscriptions and think about how short some of their lives were. Very high infant mortality rate in the 1800's. Area also has some unbelieveable old mansions. Get lunch at the Commander's Palace across the street. We did!

This cemetery needs to be part of the NOLA tour! Located in the Garden District, the walk through the cemetery provides an education in the diverse ethnicity that has added to the special make up of this wonderful city over the course of time.

Kinda weird at first that you are walking around peoples final resting place, but the beauty of it quickly shoos those feelings away! SO much grandeur! Amazing
