What an interesting slice of history! If ever in NOLA, this is a must-see! The grounds are really amazing. And, if you're a photographer, you can't miss this site!

Made a point of going to this cemetery as some of the others were charging fees! This cemetery was beautiful and apparently is used for shows and films etc!

We did a walking tour by free tours on foot of the Garden District and the cemetery and it was pretty cool. The cemetery is very interesting, especially hearing about how the cemetery works and the history of it. It is definitely worth walking around. It's also only about 2 blocks off of the trolley line.

Never thought we'd be visiting a cemetery on our holidays! We were told this was the second most visited cemetery in the world! Elvis' being the first The history behind all this is quite interesting and why they bury above ground best going with a tour guide so they can fill you in. We were told Nicholas Cage the actor had purchased a plot, and built a white pyramid. There are I think 3 Lafayette cemeteries so make sure you pick no 1 when booking .

A little out of the way from the hop on hop off bus stop, but we were glad we went. Self guided, no rush and free!!! Right across the street from a famous NOLA restaurant Commanders Palace.
