Fast service with excellent drinks. The piano player is great. We sat here for hours talking to a few local people we met and just enjoyed the night. We even got to enjoy a 2nd line that came down Bourbon St to stop at the bar (hired for a bachelor part). Plenty of rickshaws waiting to take you back up Bourbon St, to the Streetcar, or wherever else you may want to go.

Almost 21 years to the date since I last visited and sat almost in the same spot for a drink. Not much has changed except for behind the bar seemed a little more commercial. Drinks were not in as big of glasses as they used to be. Still a great place to sit and enjoy a cold one on a very hot night.
Laffette is a little further down out of the main hustle and bustle on Bourbon.
If you like history it is a place to go. Gotta love the gas lights outside

A must see because of the rich tradition behind this place. Warning the drinks are STRONG.. not tasty so you get what you pay for.. bathrooms could use a good hosing down/cleaning. BUT the atmosphere and crowd are great!

Might be the oldest and most haunted in America, but the bar is great. Candle lit and dark, makes the experience that much better.

It was ok. We listened to a podcast about this bar prior to arriving in New Orleans. We were so excited to visit. It was lit by candle light. It was small, loud, smelled funky and hard to find seating BUT it was cool to experience, especially since we had listened to the podcast first. The Purple voodoo drink they are famous for was blah. If you are planning on going, definitely listen to the haunted podcast about it. Makes it more interesting.
