Owner description: There's just enough voodoo lore here to introduce you to the history and culture of this spiritual practice and to tempt you to bring home a love potion or voodoo doll as a souvenir. Guided swamp, plantation and cemetery tours are available.

It's very small, but the museum itself is definitely worth the $5 entrance fee! Plenty of paintings and artifacts and some really creepy voodoo dolls and statues. Definitely worth stopping by! They allow photography in the small museum so make sure you take pictures! Especially of the "offerings" (you'll see what I mean!

I found this museum very very interesting. It's only very small and if you just wandered through without reading any thing you could be done in 5-10 minutes but if you really look through everything and take it all in it takes a good hour. The lady on the front desk was very freindy and helpful, she answered any question I had and was very happy to have a chat. I woukd recommended this museum if you are at all interested in voodoo and the southern culture.

The museum is easy to get to within the French Quarter on Dumaine St. It's a small museum with a lot of pictures, paintings, trinkets, and other items on display inside of a small space. It's best not to bring small kids here, not because it's scary by any means, but because it's too small to have kids running around with things that can be easily damaged or knocked over by small hands. Interesting info here on the history of voodoo with dolls, books, etc you buy as well. Not something you need to schedule a lot of time for though. The owner/site manager was very polite and they do offer tours offsite. It's an ok stopover for a quick look, but you're best served taking a prearranged voodoo tour if you're really into learning about voodoo.

I took a group of students there in March based on a friends recommendation and was not disappointed! Yes this place is a little "cheesy" but totally worth it if you have young teenagers with you who believe that this stuff is real. It has a haunted mansion feel to it and the owner also brought a snake in there for the kids to touch. The rooms are very gloomy and filed with artifacts collected years ago making this place very legitimate when it comes down to voodoo stuff. The tour only takes up to about 20minutes to half an hour and totally worth the price of admission. A must do if you have teenagers who like this stuff! :)

We visited this new orleans museum, just off bourbon street. Lots of articles and historical information displayed in 2 rooms. The articles are crammed, but easily available for observation. Nice small and inexpensive museum to be visited for those interested in somme voodoo info.
