This was billed as being full of historical items of New Orleans but when we went there it was two rooms. One full of duck decoys and the other with paintings of famous people from New Orleans past. Self guided and free. Unless there is a specific exhibit there, take a pass on this

Thank you for visiting The Historic New Orleans Collection, and we apologize your visit didn't live up to your expectations. A portion
of our campus at 533 Royal St is currently between exhibitions while we take down our special Tricentennial exhibition and re-install our permanent exhibition looking at 300 years of this region's history in the Louisiana History Galleries.

I hope you'll return to see the galleries when they are back on permanent display, as well as our other offerings, including a house museum in the former home of our founders, Kemper and Leila Williams, which is part of the 533 Royal St campus; our Williams Research Center at 410 Chartres St; the Laura Simon Nelson Galleries for Louisiana Art at 400 Chartres St; and our future 3rd campus at 520 Royal St, opening late 2018.

Visited the Williams house and was able to visit this historically preserved property with an excellent guide. It brings the past of the city to life.

I've searched through their photography sections many times, New Orleans is amazing how much it has stayed the same.

I loved my first trip to NOLA, but my favorite street was Royal! I loved everything about this street, from the historic buildings and shops to the charm! Don't miss this street while in the French Quarter. It is so worth it!!! And yes they do have bars on the street as well, but not as crazy as Bourbon street!
