“I would definitely stay again”
Reviewed 26 July 2014

I recently stayed at the Dauphine Orleans and was very pleased I did! I booked a spontaneous trip to New Orleans and went on my own, and needlesstosay, when you travel alone, you don't always know the best places to go or the places to stay away from. The staff at the hotel were so very kind friendly and helped me out a great deal...special thanks to Jess, she helped me out immensely with maps and tips on places to go and always answered my questions with a smile. The breakfast was delicious and the staff that worked that area were very friendly and kept the place clean and running smooth. I appreciated the free wi-fi and the water left daily for me. For being a block off of Bourbon St. I never heard any noise and slept well each night. It was a great spontaneous trip and I would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at the Dauphine Orleans Hotel. The staff are very friendly and upbeat. They were all very nice indeed. The free drinks voucher and complimentary water and wi-fi was greatly appreciated. Our rooms were very comfortable and the breakfast was just what you need - buffet style - which is ample. The coffee was very nice! Our only negative comment relates to the strange smell in the main bar! They appear to burn joss sticks so whether it is from these or not, we weren't sure, but it is not a very nice aroma! Otherwise, this is a great hotel bang in the middle of the French Quarter within easy walking distance of all the main attractions. Thoroughly recommended. We would go back, no problem.

Room Tip: If you want to sit out on a wee balcony with a street view, ask for a room at the front of the hotel...

Hi marsellan,

Thank you for your feedback! We take guest satisfaction very seriously, so we are delighted to hear you had a wonderful stay! we are happy to report that we are in the process of fixing the roof that was causing water to leak to the bar. We do hope we get the opportunity to welcome you back to New Orleans soon!

No doubt, we would definitely stay again. We were extremely pleased with the main house deluxe king room. The posturepedic bed was comfortable and we slept great! The daily free water bottles, free bar drink vouchers, excellent continental breakfast was a great touch. Not to mention, the staff was absolutely hospitable and very kind. We received awesome service! The courtyard grounds are kept up with and clean. Made our stay very enjoyable and memorable.

Traveling with teenage grandsons to give them an introduction to the Gulf Coast, we began at the Dauphine, in the middle of the French Quarter. New Orleans is a high energy place; so being able to walk to most restaurants, music and pieces of history minimized stress. The historic hotel was refreshingly comfortable and the boys loved the salt-water pool. The full continental breakfasts
launched us strongly each morning to visit the city and more. We enjoyed our own balconies over Dauphine Street only one block away from Bourbon Street. A quick walk to the waterfront allowed us access to a City Tour and Swamp Tour to orient and entertain the entire family outside the French Quarter.

Room Tip: A room with a balcony enhances the experience.

This hotel is more for people w/o kids or those who can walk long distances. The small pool allows smoking and is near the bar/restaurant (tiny). You have to walk quite a ways to everything family oriented or pay for a pedicab or taxi (expensive). You have to walk past pool/smoking area to get to breakfast in the morning. The breakfast is stocked and staffed. Your car is valet parked at around $35 a day on site for you. The staff were all very nice and accommodating. No laundry facilities.

Room Tip: Some rooms face the parking garage and a wall, pool, or a courtyard. I would inquire what you face b...

Hi Vacationjunkieok,

We are sorry that you did not have a better experience with our location. While our hotel is generally non-smoking, we do allow for smoking by our pool, and we apologize for the inconvenience this caused you. We do hope you’ll give us the opportunity to serve you again on your next trip to New Orleans.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Dauphine Orleans Hotel. Although I probably would not stay at this property again primarily because there are so many charming hotels in New Orleans we did enjoy our recent stay. At first glance we were not thrilled with our room. The room was huge with a large refrigerator, wet bar, desk, sofa, king bed etc.however there was only one tiny window which made the room very dark. The hotel staff at this property were very friendly and kind and made you feel very appreciated. Special thanks to the ladies at breakfast who went out of their way to take care of my husband on our last day due a small hiccup at breakfast the day before. The complimentary breakfast is a real bonus. Yogurt, hot and cold cereal, hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit (excellent strawberries), bagels, croissants, muffin, etc. plus hot and fresh scrambled eggs and sausage patties along with a variety of juices and coffee and tea. The pool is on the smaller side however we didn't have a problem finding a lounge chair on the one day that we used the pool. The hotel is in an excellent location just one block from Bourbon Street. Our room was nice and quiet after the noise and excitement of Bourbon Street. We didn't use our free cocktail at Mae Bailey's because unfortunately it didn't have alot of atmosphere and smelled quite musty. Replacing the carpet would be a big help!. Overall an excellent trip. New Orleans we will be back to enjoy your history, culture, food, music and party atmosphere!

Tucked away on Toulouse Street, this hotel is still in the heart of the French Quarter but on a quiet street off Bourbon. My room was huge with two balconies, and the courtyard pool was a nice amenity for summer. Staff, from the parking attendant to the front desk clerks, were so nice and helpful. I would stay here again.
