“Great historical hotel”
Reviewed 4 April 2014

I have stayed here many times and it is in a great location for getting to the French Quarter or garden district. I have stayed hear and The Ritz across the street and prefer this hotel though my spouse leans towards The Ritz. The lobby is amazing and they have a great coffee shop, bar and restaurant - Domenica. The rooms are large with high ceilings. Service is usually excellent though when the bar is busy it takes a long time to get served. You normally can't go wrong with reataurants but I am fav of Cochon, Napolean House, Irene's and Pesce. Surrey's is a great breakfast place.

Stayed here for 4 days. Hotel lobby offers elegant entry point for a mediocre room and poor housekeeping services. The name implies refined luxury, but the actual stay is anti-climatic. My daughter and I traveled to Nawlins for a girls retreat of music, art, coffee, beignets and food....The city is back to its robust offerings in the Quarter, on the Square and along the RiverWalk. We had a blast until we got back to the Waldorf. The room is a step back in time(ok), and the furnishings are a little in need of re upholstery(ok), but disappointment reigns for the none restock of shampoo, soap, bottled water and adequate towels. A small spill of sprite in vestibule near inner point of door was still sticky and never mopped. I am a Diamond Member of Hilton and thought this would be the highlight of premier trappings of comfort! LOL...The Hilton's Hampton Inn is cleaner and more customer friendly without pretentiousness.
Our bed was comfortable, the food/drink items we had in the Waldorf were good. Their staff was cordial and we went through the dog/pony niceties of this high brow hotel. $42.00 a day valet parking. We had fun period! Cleanliness and safety are paramount when I travel! Cleanliness here left something to be desired and hopefully, the hotel's management takes notice of my comments!

I've stayed at this Waldorf on previous visits and I wouldn't stay anywhere else! Domenica restaurant is the best in the city and the charred oysters in the bar are out of this world tasty! The staff is courteous and attentive with a good dose of humor thrown in. GREAT experience!

If you like classic hotel, like the Waldorf in New York, this is a great hotel for you. Well located 2 blocks from the French Quarter, it is big and elegant in the classic style. I had a large comfortable two room suite for a very reasonable price. i would certainly return

I took my friend to N.O. for her birthday. We enjoy cooking and eating out and the Roosevelt provided a great hotel and location to enjoy what N.O. has to offer. Domenica Restaurant was a great experience to start off the weekend. The hotel's location was within walking distance of the National World War II museum and the other restaurants we tried during our stay.

We stayed here for three nights during our honeymoon in NOLA. They had messed up our reservation (2 queens instead of 1 king), but they readily fixed the problem when we brought it to their attention. The room was incredibly spacious, with a large sitting area with couch, walk-in closet, and entryway. The place was very clean, and the hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. The bed was very soft -- not my personal taste, but my partner loved it. We had now complaints and were happy with the location and attention we received.

Stayed here Thurs Feb 27 - Mon Mar 3. Two adults + two kids (11 & 16). Stayed in the 1 King + 1 bedroom suite. Perfect as it had 2 separate tv's and 2 separate bathrooms. Excellent central location for Mardi Gras parades. However, be careful because you can get land-locked depending on the various parade routes and where you happen to be at the time. Brief walk to Bourbon and Royal streets, short walk to Jackson Square and the market. Nice hotel, good gym, nice outdoor pool + hot tub, attentive staff, knowledgeable concierge, good food, excellent drinks at the Sazerac!
