“The Glamour of Yesteryear, In New Orleans”
Reviewed 23 May 2014 via mobile

Stepping into the lobby of The Roosevelt New Orleans is like walking through a magic portal, arriving in a wonderful Art Deco/art Nouveau world of yesteryear. This beautiful hotel started its grand restoration project after Hurricane Katrina, and after many years of restoration emerged as the stunning new five-star gem of New Orleans. Now a Waldorf Astoria property, The Roosevelt brings glamour and sophistication to a city that mixes upscale and down-and-dirty in perfect harmony.

It is a very elegant and beautifull hotel, close to the French Quarter. The room I stayed at had a fair size and no noise at all, so I was able to get a good night of sleep. I stayed for two nights only, so I did not have the chance to try the food or the breakfast, but I went to the gym, that is big and well equipped.

This hotel is spacious, easy to access, and close to the hot spots of New Orleans. The staff could not be more helpful, the food is good while the rooms a good size. With the drapes drawn the room is comfortably dark and quiet.

Room Tip: Try and get a high floor on a corner for best view and light into room

The facilities and staff are well trained and courteous. Facilities are superior. Be prepared to pay more but for a trouble free visit with comforts and efficiencies it is worth the price. Be prepared to pay for your Wifi, which I think should be complementary from a Hotel of this stature.
