Spent three days in the French Quarter and glad we chose to stay at the Roosevelt. The property itself is beautiful, with an outdoor pool that was nicer than anticipated from the photos. The location is central to the bars on Bourbon Street and the shopping on Royal, but also set back enough that it was quiet. The only drawback was the size of the room, but even that was comfortable for two people. I think there's probably better value to be had elsewhere but I really loved the atmosphere.

An exquisite landmark property along the edge of the French Quarter.

The lobby, foyers, hallways and common areas practically ooze early 20th century grandeur. An attention to detail and preservation lend an almost historic air with echoes of jazz decades since passed. These spaces are designed for lingering and lounging, enjoy a drink as you take them in.

Standard rooms, such as the one we stayed in, are located in the original wing of the hotel which was built in the 1890's. This fact adds charm however it is not without it's drawbacks as space is at a premium. Our room was shy of cramped but only because it's high ceilings created an elusion of openness. The bathroom was exquisitely appointed, complete with Television and Ferragamo toiletries. Turn down, twice daily maid service left no questions about cleanliness.

My one and only drawback is honestly more of a matter of personal preference. The guest room decor, paint and so on were done in a "done-up," over-the-top style synonymous with New Orleans. Nothing is understated and everything has a faux finish, but hey when in Rome...

You like the rest of us will remember your stay with nostalgic longing.

Dear atlblakek86,

Thank you for taking the time and sharing your experience with our TripAdvisor community. We are delighted that you had a wonderful experience at The Roosevelt New Orleans. Thank you for your kind comments about our lobby and public spaces. We do have to agree, walking through the lobby one can get lost in imagination and dream about how The Roosevelt was the primer place to wine and dine. Presently, The Roosevelt cherishes our history and has brought back different elements like the Fountain Lounge where you can get lost by listening to the sweet sound of jazz. We hope that if your travels ever bring you back to New Orleans that you are able to stay with us again.

this was my first time in NOLA and I stayed at the Roosevelt! We had a suite and it was absolutely breath-taking! The room was enormous! Our bathroom had a separate soaking tub and the shower had multiple heads and roomy to fit 2+ people. The actual size of the suite was bigger than my apt in NYC. The pool was on the 8th floor with a nice bar and hot tub. Spent a lot of time there! Within walking distance to everything. I loved every moment about my stay. Staff was very friendly and room service was great!

Thoroughly enjoyed our 5 days at the Roosevelt. The service is exceptional, the bars and restaurants are fabulous, and the room is clean and comfortable.

We had exceptional service from everyone we encountered, from valets, doormen, bartenders, wait staff, front desk, housekeeping. Everyone greeted us with a smile, and most greeted us by name if we saw them more than once.

The location is perfect. Close enough to walk to attractions on Bourbon, but quiet enough at night. The trolley is steps away too.

If we are ever in NOLA again, we will most certainly stay at The Roosevelt again.

Room Tip: No real view from our 9th floor room, but buildings are very close together in this area anyway.
