“Neat place - better location”
Reviewed 1 August 2014

We stayed here for a bachelor party which was a perfect location as Bourbon really ends here from Canal St. Our room was "40" AKA the Attic where there are literally slant ceilings, one bathroom and two double beds .... and a wet bar (not stocked :( ).

If you bring a group there is plenty of space for a couple air mattresses so you don't have to bunk next to your drunk friend. Pretty quiet place and well kept. We had a trunk full of random stuff (books, boots, shirts) in our room which was a bit out of the norm.

Overall would stay again.

Room Tip: All the rooms looked great - we stayed in the "attic"

We absolutely loved our stay at Lafitte's Guest House. Our room was beautiful - loved the chandelier - and we had a huge balcony overlooking Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop. The king sized bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever had in a hotel and the room was surprisingly quiet for a hotel on Bourbon Street (it's a quiet end of the street). Housekeeping was wonderful. The hotel has a room with free snacks and serves a simple breakfast every morning. You won't regret staying here. It's perfect.

The *only* thing I would have changed would have been to add a mirror or hang the large mirror a bit lower - it was up so high I could not actually use it as a mirror.

Room Tip: The balcony rooms are worth it!

What a wonderful place! We needed a place for a few nights while my son had appointments at Tulane Medical and I hate cookie-cutter hotel rooms. This was just what the doctor ordered. We had the room on the top floor. It was spacious and the beds were so comfortable that I wanted to take the mattresses home. (I have a Tempepedic so I'm very particular about my mattress!). I enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the morning drinking my coffee. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is parking but it's limited. Make sure you talk to the staff first before you arrive to confirm space. Highly recommend!

Much charm, very nicely appointed, awesome staff and well located. We stayed in room 21. Alas, we didn't see any obvious apparitions but all-in-all I would stay at Lafitte again and recommend staying there. Breakfast in the morning and available fruit, snacks and drinks in the kitchen all of the time at no extra charge. Nice feature.

Be aware that the bathroom in room 21 is quite small so if this is important to you you might consider asking for another room. Small shower and your knees tough the sink cabinet when sitting down. No doubt putting the bathroom in was limited to the space of this very old, historic building. The large room and balcony made up for it for us though.

Being on Bourbon St you see lots of activity but are not in the heart of the chaos (i.e. I slept well). It right next door to the historic Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop, which receives lots of visitors as every tour group (walking or horse & buggy) tour we saw made a stop there to talk about it's history and invariably some or all of the group would go in for a drink but the activity is not as loud as the heart of Bourbon St. The people in the bar are very hospitable as well.

Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Ask about the size of the bathroom, if that is important to you.

This was by far my best experience in NOLA. The location of the property is perfect. Not right in the middle of the craziness but close enough! The staff was very accommodating. I will definitely be back soon!

I stayed in this hotel with my extended family for my cousin's wedding.
The guest house is beautiful and felt like home! The staff was always friendly and helpful, from any request of help, to where to eat, to even just passing by in the hallway. I know my family put the Lafitte Guest House to the test - and they passed with flying colors!
The rehearsal dinner and ceremony were held in the charming courtyard. When it rained all day of the ceremony and then stopped just when it needed to, the courtyard was cleaned in record timing and everything was perfectly in place.
We were close enough to the night life on Bourbon street to sit on the balcony and watch to our hearts' content. But it was also quiet enough in the room that I slept peacefully.
With a variety of rooms, the Lafitte Guest House is perfect for couples, families, or friends! I will not hesitate to stay here again!
