My husband and I stayed here during Jazz Fest 2014. We were offered an upgrade to a suite and we are so glad we did - it was two stories with beautiful views. I highly recommend upgrading if you can afford it. The bell staff, front desk and concierge were all extremely helpful and housekeeping is friendly and very competent. We ate at the cafe off the lobby for breakfast several days and the line was long but the food and coffee were good.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a suite if you can afford it - totally worth it!

Stayed 2 nights for a conference. Decent room, looked recently renovated. Front desk, concierge and hotel restaurant staff were very friendly. This is a large, business conference-type, generic Marriott. If I were visiting NO for pleasure, I'd probably try to find something more intimate. However, if you don't want to worry about your accommodations and want a centrally-located hotel, this is the place. Short walk to French Quarter and of the locations tourists want to see. I ate a few meals (including the breakfast buffet) at the hotel restaurant and thought the food and service was quite good.

The staff here is superbly friendly and kind. I had forgotten my iPhone 5 charger, and the store had none available for purchase. The on-duty bellmen, Terrell, volunteered to loan me his extra charger overnight, bringing it to my room and all. I was on a business trip, so he was truly a life-saver. Thank you again, Terrell, for going above and beyond! I am officially a fan of the Marriott line because of your and your colleagues at the J.W. Marriott New Orleans.

PS: They fruit water in the afternoon and free Financial Time in the morning was awesome as well.

We stayed at the JW Marriott for Jazz Fest. During our stay we were impressed with the cleanliness and overall stylish appearance of the hotel. The staff was very friendly, pleasant, and hospitable. The food was DELICIOUS! We ordered room service for a late night meal and again for breakfast. Both times we were not only happy, we were VERY impressed with the quality of the food! The beds were comfortable, the rooms were spacious and cozy, and the overall experience was a positive one. Great location, in a very walkable area of the French Quarter (right on Canal St), and located next to both the Canal and St. Charles streetcar lines.

Dear Danielle,

Thank you for taking the time to submit feedback about your Jazz Fest stay. Our favorite part of your review was reading about how much you enjoyed our room service from Canal Street Grill! Our excellent new menu is the brainchild of Master Chef Rene Bajeux, and we are just so proud of these amazing dishes that the staff continues to create. Additionally, it was wonderful to hear that your stay was quite comfortable and that you adored our convenient location by the historic streetcar lines. We eagerly await your return for Jazz Fest 2015!

Sincerely,

Arrived at 7pm during a flash flood wind, rain, lightning and thunder. After my luggage and I got to our room Bellman even got a bucket of ice for me.

Could not open new luggage lock ( The Lewis N Clark Gear Up & Go Triple Security Lock ) it had a 3-dial resettable combination that would not open.

Paul the Bellman on night shift tried everything and could not open it either he ended up cutting it off.

I am very happy to have luggage opened.

Excellent service will stay here on my next visit.
