“awesome service”
Reviewed 12 May 2010

My wife and I stayed here for just one night on may 7th.
Check-in was surprisingly fast considering it was about 5pm and they only had one person checking people in. She was quite pleasant to deal with.
we stayed in room 405.
The room was incredibly large and had great view of Carondelet street.
Bed was very comfy! wife liked the bathroom not to small
water pressure and air conditioning worked fine!
Breakfast area is quite big and great breakfast choices and best of all it's included with the hotel stay . definitely a plus if undecided between hotels.
no pools though.
location is not bad, few blocks from bourbon street. St-Charles street car stops right in front.Valet service was efficient.

I was charged over $50 for valet parking, which was complete fraud since I did not have a car. Make sure you check your bill for false charges! The rooms are outdated. Spend the extra $30 and stay at the Westin, which is far more enjoyable. The pluses to the Hampton Inn are the free wireless Internet and breakfast.

Stayed here with spouse for extended weekend to cash in Hilton Honors points. Loved the hotel in almost every way. High points: charming and knowledgeable front desk staff and bellhops. Location right on St. Charles streetcar line, and within walking distance of many tourist hotspots. Room was large and well appointed, if a bit dusty (set off my allergies). Beds luxurious. Bathroom miniscule but we managed. Breakfast very nice, a notch up on hot buffets in a big room with plenty of comfortable seating. Only big complaint was the housecleaning crew, who held a family reunion outside our door one afternoon (seriously, mom and dad were there too) and literally woke us up from a nap. Then the next day, one of the crew actually threw away a bottle of my makeup that I'd left sitting on a counter. It looked empty but wasn't. I have never heard of a housecleaning staff doing this -- always thought they were instructed "if it's not yours, leave it alone." Overall, the stay was great, but a few minor notes.

We stayed here for 3 nights in the end of March and chose this hotel due to a fair rate and favorable reviews.

The location is great. It is only a short walk to Bourbon Street and at the same time we enjoyed the quiet area. Public transportation is close - the St. Charles streetcar runs on Carondelet and the Canal Street streetcar is one block away.

Our room was large and with a nice view of downtown. Internet connection in our room was excellent.

Breakfast is complimentary and of good quality. The breakfast room is quite large with adequate seating. The Business Center (one computer with printer) is in the breakfast room.

The hotel could do with an update, but in general we enjoyed staying here and would probably choose the same hotel again.

We were in NOLA Easter weekend 2010 and we chose the Hampton Inn on Carondelet as our base. We stayed here for 2 nights and generally pleased with our choice of hotel. The room was spacious and the king bed comfy. We liked the fact that the room came with a microwave and a mini fridge. Internet was also complimentary. The only thing we didn't like was the bathroom. It was too small and it didn't have a bath tub. The bath amenities were also rather basic.

The hotel offers a daily complimentary breakfast from 6am to 10am. We are not fussy eaters so we felt the food was adequate. A choice of breakfast cereals, sweet breads, a waffle station, fresh fruit, yogurt, a hot food station, fruit juice, tea and coffee. The breakfast room is spacious and comfortable -there's a big flat screent T.V. in the room and the hotel's only computer is located in there also. Note that tea and coffee are served all day long from the breakfast room.

The hotel is in a safe location and less than a 5 minute walk to the French Quarter. There is a CVS store just around the corner on Carondelet and Canal so handy for snacks / drinks, and the St Charles Streetcar goes pass the front of the hotel also.

Overall we were fairly happy with our stay. We would stay here again providing the room rates stay competative.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn French Quarter area for a week on vacation. The hotel is conveniently located just a block and a half from the French Quarter - very easy walking distance but on a quieter street. The service was outstanding. When we arrived, we walked into the room and discovered that the one window opened directly (as in just a couple feet) onto the side of another building, which made the room very dark and dreary. We called the front desk to ask for another room and were immediately offered a larger, very light room at the front of the building. The staff was very helpful. Unfortunately, it had two queens instead of a king. So beware if you want a king--we were told all of the standard king rooms have windows facing the side of the other building. The free wifi and included breakfast are nice perks and there's a free computer/printer in the breakfast room, which is very handy. One morning when it wasn't working the front desk manager even let us use her personal laptop to print a voucher we needed. And the manager called our room to make sure we were happy with our stay. On the downside, the rooms are quite dated--especially the bathrooms. Our guess was that the hotel hasn't been remodeled since it was converted to a Hampton Inn in the mid 90s. The rooms are just ok. But if you're looking for an affordable option near the French Quarter with great service, this is a good choice.

The hotel is two blocks from Bourbon Street, walking distance to shops was just round the corner. The lifts are something to get used to you have to insert your room key inside the lift and take out then press your floor number, watch out though does not always work. But dont panic retry and retry and then your off to your floor. The rooms were spacious and each room contained a combination safe, fridge, microwave, coffee making facilities and high speed internet access. The rooms were comfortable and furnished to a high standard, with a complimnetary breakfast too!! There was plenty of seating in the restaurant, which is on level four. A simple floor layout as well. Comlimentary toiletries in the bathroom and refilled daily as was towels and bedding. The hotel does not mind your bringing in your own food. there is a small shop just on the corner to the right as you exit the hotel which you can buy most things including alcohol and hot chicken! you have the option to self cater if you like in the comfort of well resented hotel. From reception you can go through a set of doors during the day which leads to two floors of food hall, includes cookies, pizza, burgers etc etc and some shops.
