We stayed here from 10/12-10/14. It was only two to three blocks from the French Market, and great restaurants. Some reviews had complained it was old, if you want a nice new hotel stay in the suburbs, this is the French Quarter. We loved our room, the staff was great. We will be back again soon....

We were very happy with the Chateau which coming from me means allot. I have stayed at 5 star hotels all over the world and worked at a resort hotel. The Chateau is far from a 5 star but has the potencial and setting to make it that way. Charming court yard with pool and fountains (pool needed cleaning and fountains were either not running or green) rooms were small but very nice and quaint, great bed, and bedding- bathrooms although clean could use some updating. Lobby was nice and festively decorated- large gentleman who checked us in was not too friendly, accomodating or helpful. Very nice Cont. Breakfast they actually deliver to your room but without the promised newspaper. Bottom line, we had a nice time and would stay again-Just ashame as it is like a diamond in the rough- could be super given a little TLC- Outside Bar in the Courtyard needs to be open in the afternoon serving wine- not just having the employees eating their lunch and dinners around it- Also moved the cleaning supplies to an area where they cannot be seen by guests.

We appreciate your candid review of The Chateau Hotel. The fountains were suffering from a then-unidentified glitch and we have since got them back running.

I apologize that the Front Desk did not explain properly our current newspaper situation. The Times-Picayune has gone to a three day a week printing schedule (they are going digital). We are currently trying to get a daily delivery of another local paper-we will not be going with a national publication, we prefer to keep it local! Hopefully, we will begin receiving daily papers again soon.

Since Katrina, Management has chosen to not staff the bar, however, wine glassses and corkscrews are available upon request.

Thank you for taking the time to review us and we hope to see you soon!

This hotel had a great location and a decent price, however, the manager of the hotel was extremely rude and very unhelpful .She was the first to let you know how long she worked there and how little we knew about the city but never offered any advice. She was short and abrupt when asked a question and made you feel like you were wasting her time. As a group we booked out about 12 rooms and none of us had a good experience with this women. The rest of the staff was great and very attentive.

I am sorry to hear you had a less than desirable experience with the hotel and the owner. We do hope you enjoyed your New Orleans vacation overall.

This was my 2nd stay at the Chateau Hotel, but I'm sure won't be my last. It's a very charming, boutique style New Orleans hotel. The staff is very nice, and has a very good location located on the corner of Chartres St and St Phillip. I had a room on the main floor, with my windows facing Chartres St. I was a bit concerned about noise but with the exception of Saturday night (to be expected), it was never a problem.

If you're looking for the Ritz, this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for a charming, old world NO style hotel, this fits the bill.

Stayed one night and the all the staff were very nice and helpful. Room overlooked the pool and was very comfortable. I was the only one in the room so it being small was not that much of an impact for me. Location is not far from the places I had planned to go and the price of acceptable. Parking was $20 and your car was not far away if you needed to get something out of it. Again, the staff was GREAT!!!! Free Wi-Fi, swimming pool and breakfast brought to your room as long as you order the evening before.
