“Awesome Place to Stay in NOLA”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 February 2014

This is our new favorite place to stay in NOLA. The rooms are clean, well kept and
beds are comfortable. Bathrooms are stocked with Aveda products. It is in the French Quarter which is convenient to walk to the sights but far enough away from the noise that you are not disturbed. The security is great! Must use your key card to get into the gate that separates the rooms from the street. Great courtyard area with tables and hot-tub. Wonderful staff on-site as well!! You won't be disappointed!

Room Tip: Room 5 is downstairs and away from all of the other rooms. There is no noise from other rooms or do...

We stayed at Inn on Ursulines for three nights because it is in the French Quarter) and reasonably on/off I-10. The price could not be beat. Our room was small but clean and comfortable. We'd stay here again if we return to New Orleans.

Room Tip: If you don't have a lot of luggage, ask for a room on the 2nd floor.

I stayed at Inn on Ursuline on January 17, 2014 for 4 nights. The property is close enough to all of the action on Bourbon Street but far enough away from the noise. This is a great location for wanting to experience Bourbon Street and Frenchman Street area. We walked everywhere or took the trolley which is an inexpensive option. Walking up Royal, there are wonderful galleries, shops, restaurants and more.

Our room was located in the separate building in the back, a deluxe king. The room was decorated nicely and the bed was really comfortable. The bathroom was nice and clean, the closet was very roomy. The shower is a little small, but worked fine.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Our rooms was always cleaned very soon after we left. I would recommend this property and would stay here again.

My husband and I stayed at the Inn on Ursulines over the Christmas holiday week 2013.

The number one reason to stay here is the value for the location. It fit our "under $150 a night" requirement, it's right in the French Quarter, and it's on the quieter, calmer end of the French Quarter. We saw mainly Ghost & Vampire/Haunted History tour groups up and down our street, not loud, obnoxious drunks. We could easily walk to anywhere in the French Quarter or over to Frenchmen's Street for music. The famous Laffite's Blacksmith Shop Bar is one block up and over.

What makes the room average? Well, to start, the night we checked in, the desk clerk told us at least 5 times that we were going to be so surprised at how close the gated parking lot was. (It's $20 a night.) "It's right behind this building," she says! It's actually a 6 block walk to the parking lot - so unload your stuff first! Its not terrible unless it's raining or you need to get your car often.

We're not fussy people. We don't require a lot of amenities when we travel. The room was comfortable and relatively quiet (we stayed in room 32 on the second floor), but there were little things that indicated a lack of attention to detail: a cigarette butt laying on the threshold of our doorway for 2 days (we wanted to see how long it would stay), a used K-cup mixed in with the unused by our coffee machine, a shower curtain liner only half snapped in, a dresser drawer that would not stay closed at all. These minor things didn't hinder our vacation enjoyment at all, but it would prevent me from giving the Inn on Ursulines a higher rating.

Would I stay here again? Possibly. I'd probably look around a bit more perhaps for a similar price and location before settling.

Room Tip: Second floor was quiet, but if you can't carry your luggage up a short flight of narrow stairs...

Thank you for sharing your recent experience with us and others on TripAdvisor. We are pleased you found your guestroom to be comfortable and quiet and our location, in the quieter residential section of the French Quarter, to be so great. We are extremely disappointed to hear about the small things that housekeeping seemed to miss during your stay, and have taken the opportunity to remind our staff of the importance of focusing on the details. In regards to our parking lot, you are correct in noting that it is a walk, however it is only located about three blocks away, just behind our sister property the Lamothe House. Unfortunately, parking is at a premium in the French Quarter and many hotels do not have the luxury of offering a private, gated lot for use for their guests. However we understand your frustrations and apologize for the inconvenience. We truly appreciate your feedback and hope you would consider any of our French Quarter Guest Houses properties upon your return to NOLA!

We were here from Friday - Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Everyone that worked there that we talked to were great. Always helpful and had plenty of suggestions. We are in N.O. at least once a year and this has made it to one of our now two places to stay. The room was very nice, the beds were comfortable, plenty of storage space in the bathroom as well as closet. They had a K-Cup machine in the room so that you could make your own coffee or hot tea. The cleaning staff were great, always checking to see if we needed anything and were always nice. I'm looking forward to staying there again.

Room Tip: If you have a problem with narrow steps make sure to request a room on the main floor.

Normally I stay at one of the hotels in New Orleans, but this time we stayed at the Inn on the far end of the Quarter. My room was nice and comfortable, and the bed slept well. It is a unique setting and gives more of the New Orleans Quarter feel. The rate was good and was convient to the Quarter. I will say that I could hear the courtyard and others fairly easily, but generally this was not an issue. The front staff was friendly and helped when I needed a taxi to the airport.

My husband and I stayed in room 4. At first glance it was very cute. It seemed clean enough, but fixtures were very dusty. It was very cold and the heater was not blowing hot air. After talking with the management, they told us to turn the heater off for 10 min to let it reset. That seemed to work, however the heater is at the top of the ceiling and the ceilings are 15 ft high. The room never got warm. I literally had to sleep in layers of clothing and my coat. The next morning when I started the shower I turned it all the way on hot water. I let it run for 10 min and it was still ice cold. I figured out that the "cold" actually got warmer, but not hot enough for a shower. Especially not in the freezing room. We will not stay here again. It is in a good location, but it was not comfortable.

We are extremely disappointed to learn of your recent experience at the Inn on Ursulines. We try to be proactive with our preventative maintenance and test all of the heaters in our guestrooms prior to the first cold front of the year and are extremely sorry that you ran into an issue with yours. In regards to the hot water, this is also a one off issue that unfortunately you experienced during your stay and we have since rectified the issue. We would love the opportunity to make it up to you with a future stay at any of our French Quarter Guest Houses properties, as we are sure you would find your stay to be nothing short of delightful. Please let us know if we can set up a reservation for you!
