We were down for the four days during the New Years Eve holiday and we enjoyed the stay. Everything was nice from check in to check out. I will make this my stay for the next time I am in the city of New Orleans
My friend and I stayed for a week at this hotel for to celebrate our birthdays and New Years in New Orleans. The hotel was convenient to everything we needed. It was walking distance to the French Quarter and most of the attractions people go to NOLA for. We walked and used the streetcar and local bus system to get around town. We never had to move our car during our week stay. The hotel staff was extremly friendly, you never passed any of them without being greeted. The desk staff, concierge and valet staff were all very helpful with directions or just giving advice and things to do and where to eat, if asked. The valets were prompt with unloading our stuff upon arrival, which we had alot of since we were staying for a week and equally prompt when they came to our room to hall it all back downstairs to our car. We really liked that it was out of the busy French Quarter district. It is in a very quiet area. It was just us two girls and we always felt safe walking to and from, even when it was 2 or 4am. An older person or family may be more comfortable taking a cab to French Quarter if a 15 or 20 min walk is too much for them. Breakfast was good. Some items changed daily, which was good for extended stay guest like us. You didn't have to eat exactly the same stuff everyday. They even have an on the go breakfast bag(not sure if thats what they call it) in case you don't have time to sit down for breakfast. They also have a list of restaurants that deliver right to your room. Ask them when the cookies are being put out on the front desk, they go fast...lol. The lobby was beautiful. It was just two days after Christmeas when we arrived, so the tree was still up in the lobby. Rooms were very clean, no stale smells or anything. Bathroom was clean. We slept in one day and missed room service, so we called down for towels and someone was at our door in literally 5 minutes. We were amazed. Can't say enough good things. We really enjoyed our stay here.
This luxury hotel features a nice restaurant. Wireless Internet access is complimentary in public areas. There is a 24-hour business center on site. The staff can provide concierge services and tour/ticket assistance. Complimentary breakfast daily, on site bar and food. Outdoor pool but no hot tub. Across from the Convention Center and walking distance to many activities including Bourbon Street. I would stay here again.
Nice facility, good size room, complimentary breakfast daily, on site bar and food. Outdoor pool but no hot tub. Across from the Convention Center and walking distance to many activities including Bourbon Street.
Our stay in New Orleans to attend the Sugar Bowl was greatly enhanced by our stay at the Hampton Inn and Suites on Convention Blvd. The hotel is a converted cotton mill warehouse which lend itself to much charm with it's lofted ceilings, brick walls, and dark hardwood floors. Our suite was spacious and nicely decorated. The serviced was friendly, and the complimentary breakfast was very good.
This is the second time I used this hotel to overnight before embarking on a cruise. The first time (a couple of years ago) I booked a two queens room and got a King bed (stroll bed added for the kids....).
Second time, December 2013, arrived at 6:30 PM and was parked in the lobby with family and baggage because the room was not ready... (???). Waited for about 40 mins and got the usual old room, small and with a high roof. Since valet parking costs $29.75 (basically like in the French Quarter) I started asking myself why I booked again this Hotel. Then, not yet satisfied, I left the car in the parking garage for the cruise week, at $ 14 per night (same price as in the cruise terminal.....). When we arrived back from the cruise, called for the complimentary shuttle from terminal to the hotel (half mile distance). Called again after half hour wait. Called again after another half hour (same answer: "shuttle is arriving, just wait there"). After some more minutes took a cab, ($28 for half mile, standard cruise flat rate from terminal) and when arrived at the hotel the shuttle driver asked me why I got a cab, since does not make sense since having paid the parking at the hotel he could have got me there in 2 minutes.
Never seen sloppier service than here. I wonder how Hilton can allow to have a Hampton Inn branding in this place.
