We had a great stay at the Hampton. The suites are HUGE! I really loved the full fridge/freezer combo. The breakfast and 24 hour coffee and tea is nice touch too! The staff at check in were extremely polite and courteous. I will stay here again!
I must start off by saying we are diamond members so when we asked for an upgrade, we didn't expect such an amazing room. We were placed in a suite with tall ceilings, separate bedroom from the living room and a kitchenette. The hotel was clean, the staff friendly and they always had hot chocolate available. Tip: do not park in the hampton inn parking deck, we parked at the fulton street parking deck for $20 a day and asked for an in and out pass. The walk was less than 10 minutes.
We travel quite a bit and I'm a Hilton honors member because the experience is always so pleasant until we hit this hotel. In town for weekend cheer competition across the street. Booked room so we could take little breaks as the day went on. Started trying to check in around 12:00 but room was not ready so we kept coming back as day progressed. The 3:00 "guarantee" is a joke. Finally I annoyed desk clerk enough that she called housekeeping and we checked in around 4:30. I really wanted to leave at this point. Asked what the deal was she just shrugged her shoulders and said "I don't know" . Then there is no room service. We didn't realize that until that night when competiton was finally over. Went to our room too tired to go any where and realized no room service. Went back out and found a subway. Finally ready to take a nice Jacuzzi bath around 11:00 that night and what a surprise. The Jacuzzi did not work. Called the front desk and she said she could try to send maintenance up . It's after 11:00 now and I just said forget it I'm too tired. Next morning want a waffle and machine breaks before we can even get one. Do I get free night? discount? apology? nope. Nobody even cared. Could not get out of there fast enough. This was worst hotel experience I've ever had. I could go on about the parking too but I'm contacting more people at Hampton. This was ridiculous and someone should be held accountable

I stayed in this hotel as a single traveller within a group tour last November. I found the room amenities to be very good, clean and comfortable. The building is a little out of the centre but a short walk from the end of the tram line. The foyer/reception and breakfast area are very attractive and still maintain some of the historical features of the building. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. I am visiting New Orleans again in April and will stay here again.
This property is very unassuming from the outside. But step inside and step back in time to old New Orleans. All of the updates have been tastefully and carefully done to preserve the feel of this historic building. It is impressive. Our corner room had what looked to be 12' ceilings with enormous windows on two walls, a sitting area, and a kitchenette. It's a couple blocks too far for walking back and forth from the Quarter, but that was no problem. Lots of bang for your buck.
This is a great place to stay pre cruise. The complimentary breakfast, shuttle service, and all the employees are so very friendly and helpful. It was great! We arrived late at night so did not really walk around or see where we were, but at the end of our cruise stored our luggage, walked to French Quarter, and took a cab to airport from Hampton. Staff is so accommodating… don't hesitate to stay here prior to your cruise out of New Orleans!
