Though located right in the hubbub of the New Orleans quartier francais, this great little boutique hotel manages to offer an oasis with all the amenities: nicely appointed quiet rooms, valet parking, a good included breakfast, and a great exercise room. Definitely a place to keep in mind for any visit to the Big Easy.

I checked out this morning and am writing this while it is fresh in my mind. This hotel is one of the New Orleans Hotel Collection properties. I stayed at the Dauphine Orleans and Bourbon Orleans during this trip as well, and this property was by far my favorite. Specifically, this property was a bit more luxury and better maintained, especially the in-room housekeeping.

Front desk staff was friendly and super accommodating when I arrived early, checking my bag for later in the day. They were also kind enough to switch my reserved double room for a king in a more quiet area of the hotel. Linens were fresh, the bed was great, with lots of pillows.

At about 4:30am last night I was woken up by a couple returning to their room completely wasted, banging around and super noisy, which then grew into a domestic disturbance. "Jeremy!!! Why can't I see your phone???!!!" Oh geez. I called the front desk and the overnight manager was upstairs in a hot second. I heard him return with security a second time when the argument continued to escalate, which was scary. I thought he did a great job managing the situation that could have gone differently.

I would recommend this hotel based on location, bedding/linens, and management. I hope the night manager gets recognized, too (I left word at the front desk, too).

Room Tip: ask for a quiet room when you check in!

Stayed here for 4 nights in November and really enjoyed our stay. Front end staff very helpful, housekeeping was great, too. Continental breakfast is the basics, nothing out of the ordinary. Room price was very reasonable, hotel has some very nice features including a great court yard with funky furniture. Room walls are a bit thin as we could hear our neighbours quite clearly at times.

First time I've written any kind of review. I was in New Orleans for a conference in December. This was a nice surprise, recommended to me by a friend. It's close to all the action on Bourbon, but still provides a quiet getaway. The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. The only downside is the lack of an on-site restaurant.

Room Tip: My room was away from the elevators as I'd hoped. Unfortunately, it was right next to the ice d...

This was our second stay at La Marais and we were celebrating our anniversary. It is very clean, well decorated and the staff is efficient and friendly. The location in the French Quarter just a partial block from Bourbon Street is very convenient and relatively quiet. The complementary hot breakfast was excellent and served late to 11 AM for those who choose to sleep later. I would highly recommend La Marais to anyone who wants to relax and enjoy New Orleans.

Room Tip: The valet parking is a bit pricey but very convenient. Expect to wait around 15 minutes to retrieve...

This hotel is very well maintained and clean. It has a lot to offer for a small property. The best thing about it is the location. It is right in the heart of the French quarter. You are right off Bourbon Street and a short walk from Harrah's Casino and Jackson Square.
