Clean and comfortable rooms. Accommodating and friendly staff. Great location within walking distance of everything. Lounge was bonus feature. Breakfast was good. Next time I am in Nola I would stay here again.

The Hotel Marias is conveniently located on Conti Street, between the highly over-rated, Bourbon Street and the very beautiful Royal Street--in the heart of the French Quarter. . It offers comfortable rooms and a service-oriented staff that, for the most part, is willing to attend to your needs. The rooms are comfortably-sized and ours, which overlooked the courtyard, was quiet. Beds are good. Free breakfasts are better than those offered at most hotels. Our one complaint, which I fear is a common one, is that the room wasn't ready when we arrived. No surprise there--it was early afternoon so we went to lunch. Came back, still not ready. Excuse: guests checked out late. Not so. Noon is clearly check out time. We finally got into our room at 5. In addition, twice the room cleaning staff left us without water, drinking glasses and soaps. That was remedied after we phoned the front desk. All in all, I suggest that for convenient New Orleans lodging, the Marais is a good bet.

Room Tip: Book a court yard room for a quiet night.

We enjoyed 3 nights of our pre-wedding honeymoon here mid-December 2013. Extremely friendly and courteous reception and bar staff. Comfortable, smart, clean and large room overlooking the courtyard. All this as well as a great location. Would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting New Orleans.

The two best things about this hotel are the location-which is in the French Quarter, but just a little off of Bourbon so the noise level is more relaxed and the courtyard in the hotel, which is very pretty and has great seating. We stayed two nights. The beds were comfortable, the room a nice size and once inside the noise outside was not distracting. This hotel had a nice bar, a great courtyard with a small pool, but a lot of seating, some shady, some sunny. Overally, a very good experience.

This was our first visit to New Orleans and we chose Le Marais because of the reviews on Tripadvisor. We arrived around 1:30, and we were informed that our room was not ready, Mr.Pierre informed us that we would get a call when the room was available. We left our bags and went on our way to explore. I called at 4:00pm because I still had not received a call and was informed that it would be 30 more minutes, and that they would call. Well 30 minutes passes and no call. We went to the hotel and were informed that the room was ready, which really upset me because we were not called, AND their published check-in time is 3pm.
The hotel is clean, we were in room 409, which has a balcony facing the pool. The bathroom is tight, and the black tile makes it very easy to notice any dirt spots. The drink coupons are a nice touch and so is the breakfast. Would I stay here again, not sure yet. Just be advised that your room may not be ready for your arrival.

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel... I like the fact that it is in the French Quarter and close to everything! The hotel is very clean something I really value when I search for a place to stay. Customer Service Great... When we checked in young lady very helpful and eager to offer us advice on places to go. The two JT's cool (Bartender & Bellhop).. Cool bar area and cute courtyard. Nice Stay.. Comfy Clean beds and rooms.... Breakfast in the morning was appreciated but just okay... I mean you are in New Orleans around great food so cant compare... Plus very safe!!!! for women who travel alone like I do at times...

Very nice hotel in a great location! As others have said, the customer service was great. Elsie was sweet checking us in and welcomed us with drink coupons for the bar. If you are lucky, Olga will make you one of her amazing cocktails! Room was small but nice: comfy bed and linens, bathroom small with not enough counter space for toiletries or sufficient towel racks, but the water was super hot and the shower was nice. Yes, the hair dryer is hidden in a dresser drawer, not sure why. Very quiet (4th floor) room since we were not near the elevator. However, the room doors are not thick or soundproof, so you will hear every door slam shut and all conversations in the hall. The elevator is very slow, but does require a key to enter, which feels safe. We were there during the French Quarter Festival and it was just wonderful to be in that location--half a block from Bourbon St and a short walk to Jackson Square, Canal St, etc. We did not get our room cleaned on the first day for some reason, had to ask for more towels. No mini bar or fridge, and no room service, but a great hot breakfast in the morning. There is a nice patio area and pool, but it's mainly nice to look at, too small to swim in. It's quite a peaceful refuge from the bustling activity outside. Walk everywhere from this hotel! Great meals at SoBou, Palace Cafe, Bourbon House, Mr B's, The Ruby Slipper Cafe, Cafe Du Monde...I want to go back! Enjoy

Room Tip: Don't accept a room near an elevator
