Normally we like the W very much; however, this W was so weird. We're sort of in shock over what to think. We were upgraded by Amex into a suite room, but when we opened the door, the carpet, sofa and floor were filthy and stained. It looked like a Bourbon Street strip club. We went to the desk and asked for a new room and they moved us to the one upstairs and the carpet was still gross, but not as bad. (Apparently the hotel was just renovated too.) They play TERRIBLE electronic music starting at seven AM through eleven at night and there is no escaping it, in the restaurant, courtyard or the room. Something was wrong with the phone system and we received five calls in a row for another guest and then we had a bunch of 800 number charges on our bill. They took them off but it was still weird. Overall, I don't understand how this hotel is part of the W Brand, but we continued our stay because the staff was awesome. They were kind, helpful, accommodating and generous.
