“Awesome tour guide Mathew....”
Reviewed 9 August 2014

We were a very small group. There were only 5 of us including Mathew the guide. Our meeting place was the Royal Oyster house on the corner of Royal and St. Louis. We walked straight up St. Louis to St. Louis Cemetery No#1 stopping occasionally for Mathew to regal us with some stories, facts and history about the french quarter, new orleans and basically anything we could throw at him. I especially liked when the conversation turned to the difference between cajun and creole. It was a very informative, laid back and fun way to spend a few hours on a hot day in July. Once we reached the cemetery, we were again told stories and facts about some of its occupants and how the tombs were utilized....(recycling at its finest.....organic level, ewwww). I highly recommend this tour. I don't know if the groups get any larger but 4 or 5 people is perfect. Mathew did say it's best to go in a group and i have to agree with him as it's not really in a great neighborhood and is out of the French Quarter.

It was if we had our own private tour guide. My family were the only group Dawn had. She was excellent. She knew all the locals and was full of knowledge! Just a pleasure to spend the am with and learned so much of the wonderful history of exciting New Orleans. We highly recommend this company and Dawn!

My. 15 yr old daughter and I took the cemetary tour with Dawn.. It was Mon ( July 14) @ 10 am. luckily for us, we were the only ones on the tour! Dawn was our guide and she was awesome! Very knowledgeable and her love for the city is evident. Tour was based on facts instead of hyped up stuff that makes things look good for the tourists. Highly recommend and Dawn if you see this, thanks again!

“Not so spooky, but definitely interesting”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

We took the Ghosts, Vampires, and Voodoo tour with Barry last week. We knew going into it that this would be more of a "historical" tour than a theater production but Barry was a hit nonetheless. His storytelling was engaging and entertaining, and effortlessly weaved history with legend. It's always fun to tour with a true local, and if you're in it for the facts more so than the spectacle, you'll enjoy this one.

“Great Experience!!”
Reviewed 29 June 2014

We took the St Louis Cemetery #1 tour on 06/25/2014. I'm not sure if it was because it was the 1:00 pm tour, in the heat of the day, but my wife and I were the only ones on the tour. Our guide, Dawn, was awesome!! She was a wealth of knowledge, and gave us much more than the book tours. She told us that she also does the Ghost tours, so we were able to ask questions about that too. She was very respectful of the cemetery and passionate about the prevention of vandalism that happens at some of the crypts. My wife needed a break from the heat in the cemetery (sometimes 20 deg warmer than outside), so we took a quick break in the Basin St Station Visitor Center next door. We had a chance to cool off, and Dawn told us more stories and history. We were able to go back out and see the rest of the cemetery before it closed.

Overall, it was an excellent tour, and we will definitely go on more Magic Tours in the future!!
